My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Originally from Zamunda (Kenya) and now in my 17th year in the states. Philly for undergrad and work as an engineer (and I guess my adopted American hometown), Chicago for grad school and probably the best 2 years of my life (in the running to displace Philly's hometown status), New York for 6 years and counting (Brooklyn for life).

My unrequited love for Arsenal and the Philadelphia Eagles means that I have suffered long term exposure to cruel and unusual punishment. I still love sports, but it no longer has the same hold on me as it did in yesteryears. I'd prefer to be in Prospect Park on a Sunday afternoon... it might all be a phase.

I literally work on Wall Street but its not what it sounds like. My work as consulting economist is mostly focused on public sector initiatives. I will admit that I get a little nerdy about numbers and theory (and that is exactly what it sounds like), but I also have other wildly varying interests... like watching an inordinate amount of Animal Planet.

I have a beautiful daughter who although doesn't live with me here in NYC, is obviously an important part of my life and the focus of a lot of my attention.

Can't really go much further without talking in the third person and no one likes that
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Trying to be happy, trying to figure it out. Work is important but I spend too much time on that at the expense of other things I am sure are important... but how would I know.

My mom has asked the same question and one day I will surprise both her and myself with that answer
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Spreadsheet manipulation... Jimi Hendrix with Excel

I can parallel park the shit out of any car

Not much of a cook but I have been known to make perfect rice

Decent writer (if forced with a gun to my head)

Liquid barbecue(TM)... I own that
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I dont know, my accent maybe? I do know that what people may think is calm laid back demeanor is really a delayed reaction
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Beloved, Catch 22, Things Fall Apart

Movies: Hav Plenty, Lost in Translation, Eternal Sunshine, Oscar (most people have no clue how funny Sylvester Stallone can be, a movie of comedic genius), Memento, Precious, Beverly Hills Cop (an American Classic - sans the action scenes which are pretty laughable), Coming to America, A Few Good Men, Opening scene from Inglourious Basterds, Argo (I know it's fictionalized), 12 Years a Slave, Inside Job (best documentary ever - Michael Moore could learn something about tone and delivery from this)

Shows: Daily Show, Real Time with Bill Maher, The West Wing, Inside the NFL (HBO version), Law and Order, Pardon the Interruption, the news in general, fox news for fun

Music: All Over the Place, anything with cowbell... I gotta have more cowbell

Food: I enjoy a good meal but really don't spend too much time thinking about dining... Checkers will do just fine
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
English breakfast tea
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
life's lottery... how some people get to live comfortable lives nestled among tidy rows of brooklyn brownstones, and others run for their lives everyday in Darfur... whose sense of humor is that?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
working, at home relaxing, out with friends... this is a silly question
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I watched Mean Girls and I liked it... yeah, that Mean Girls... yep, the one with Lindsay Lohan
