My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Despite having a verbose and self-important profile here, Im actually a man of few words. In a group situation Im the guy who waits for absolutely ages to say something witty and observant. Once in a blue moon it is actually worth the wait.

Yep, I'm married. Not looking for love, threesomes or swinging at this stage: I just love answering the questions on here and interacting with people. The whole concept is interesting. Would I even get on with someone who is a 100% match? I'd probably prefer something like 70%. Contrasting personalities can also be complimentary ones. And how boring it would be to agree with someone all the time! My favourite thing about this website is being exposed to views and personalities that I don't tend to find in my social circles. It reminds me just how sheltered life can be and keeps me honest.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working hard, but putting even more effort into rewarding things outside of work: podcasting, writing, making music. All hard work, all rewarding.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Picking things up. Both in terms of learning new skills and literally. I can pick up a 1p coin with my foot without breaking stride. Either the next big evolutionary advance or a genetic throwback. Not sure...
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Recently it seems to be that I apparently look like Mark Owen. Naturally I break into song when this is brought up.

Currently reading: Good Omens by Pratchett/Gaiman
Currently listening to: Idlewild
Currently, on Netflix: Utopia

Books: plenty of the classics, including Steinbeck, Orwell and Asimov. Recent reads include Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, Burial Rites by Hannah Kent (trust me to spend a summer holiday reading about the execution of murderers in Iceland), The Long Earth by Pratchett/Baxter, Neverwhere/American Gods by Neil Gaiman and Sabriel by Garth Nix.

Movies: Im pretty sure I could quote all of In Bruges to you, The Usual Suspects, The Royal Tenenbaums, Mary and Max. Also the animated Transformers movie from the 80s. Im not joking or being ironic...

Shows: Dexter, Misfits, Sherlock, Twin Peaks, The League of Gentlemen, Brass Eye, Alan Partridge. It seems I like TV that makes people uncomfortable! I also enjoy good documentaries: more so the works of Werner Herzog and Louis Theroux than Channel 4's professional look at "The Boy With an Arse For a Face"...

Music: from classical to punk, rock and metal. Most recent purchases are Anathema, Katatonia, Joy Formidable and Frank Turner. Others include Pulled Apart By Horses, Alkaline Trio, Hot Water Music, Death Cab For Cutie, At The Drive-In, Idlewild, Katzenjammer, Mclusky, The Gaslight Anthem, Reuben, Rival Schools, The Decemberists and Against Me! Plenty of 6Music on the radio: Royal Blood, Public Service Advertising, SOHN, Friends, Free Swim...

Food: almost everything. I struggle with things like crab and lobster though. The taste is fine but I tend to lose my appetite after having to smash my way through its home or body armour to get to the tasty bits.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) Yorkshire Tea
2) A little bit of time to myself, each day
3) Loved Ones
4) People who are passionate. About something/anything
5) Phil Collins
6) Something good to dunk in my Yorkshire Tea (not Phil Collins)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Creating an OKCupid Bingo game. Scratch off your cards if you encounter any of the following on an OKC profile:

- "I hate filling these things out"
- a man who describes himself as a "laid back guy"
- a woman who describes herself as a "bubbly gal"
- anyone looking for a partner in crime.
- any reference to Haruki Murakami
- Or Alt-J
- "I don't bite... (wait for it...) Unless Asked!"
- Oxygen as any of the six things someone cannot do without.
- When someone says they hate small-minded people before saying "Don't contact me if..."
- Anything disparaging about the Daily Mail
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Home. Or out. Or out telling people I have to go home soon. Maybe at a gig, or at one of these places: Crobar, Brewdog, The Fighting Cocks, Birkbeck Student Union (oh my, it is cheap!) or an Old Man Pub or restaurant.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I find physical "imperfections" endearing. Things that might be looked down on by many often make me more attracted to someone. Like cute ears that stick out just a bit, or a lisp.
