My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hmm...how to start....

I'm an old-school librarian living in a technological world, which is not necessarily a bad thing, I think it just sort of encapsulates the life most of us are living: I love the smell of books and the feel of paper, but make my living on a keyboard and computer screen. So it goes.

So...what to say? I'm an amateur photographer, I like bad movies and good music, I like riding my bike to no place in particular. I'm an okay cook -- I can follow a recipe (and even make some adjustments as necessary) but tend to default to simple meals 'cause they're faster. Though I am trying to stretch out, cook more and more interesting foods. Sometimes my attempts make them, well, less interesting. Then I make a sandwich.

I like hiking and camping, photography, sitting in the sun reading and listening to music. I love travel. Going someplace new, meeting and talking with folk in the subway, at a bar, keeps my mind alive and my spirit happy.

Music is important to me. There are two kinds of music: good music and bad music. I love live music and weird music. I like checking out bands I've never heard of. I like music that makes you think, and music that grabs you and makes you move. I don't like music that merges into the background.

My friends are my family.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Work, reading, playing games with friends, taking pictures, learning about wine, traveling when I can, eating as much good food as possible, working off eating the good food.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Taking pictures. Talking with friends. Joking about bad movies. Lying in the sun (takes special skills to be able to do this in Seattle). Walking dogs.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Big, bald, beard, smile. Not necessarily in that order.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
(well, food, warmth and shelter, for one...but I don't think that's what this is supposed to be about...)

My friends (they are my family)
Music
Books
My camera(s)
cheese
The feel of skin against skin

I would posit that since those are all categories of things, I probably have gone massively over the "6 things..." but what the heck.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why the world isn't the way I think it should be, consarnit. And why I don't have my aircar yet.

How to write these little essays....
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Going out to listen to music. Maybe having dinner with friends as well. Sometimes just sitting around doin' nothin', reading a book.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I dunno if I'm willing to admit that...
