I am honest, sarcastic, and curious.

My Self-Summary

Sometimes too critical and sometimes too forgiving. Somewhat emotional but also generally rational. Hopelessly candid and honest. Suffer from recurring bouts of wanderlust but also gravitate toward favorite spots.

What I’m doing with my life

I make books.

I’m really good at

road trips, needlessly over-elaborating, correspondence, being a drinking buddy.

The first things people usually notice about me

is probably, at the moment, my Fu Manchu. And maybe my dorky smile.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I like and listen to a lot of music. I don't want to be the guy who lists two hundred bands, so I'm just going to go to iTunes, hit shuffle, and list the first dozen bands that come up with songs rated four or five stars: Superchunk, Hayden, Poster Children, McLusky, Pixies, Shellac, Parts and Labor, The Jesus Lizard, Archers of Loaf, Charles Mingus, The Arcade Fire, Heatmiser.

I read mostly non-fiction these days. Unless you count work, which is spent reading fiction and poetry. (Which is why I largely read non-fiction for leisure.) I also read the Atlantic cover to cover every month.

And for food...it's good. I'm an omnivore but eat a lot of vegetarian and vegan food and can't imagine going to a Thai or Indian restaurant and sharing with the table. Et cetera.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

whether I'll move and, if so, to where.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

for public display? Not much. But in private conversation, just about anything.

You should message me if

you're bored, but would make time to write again when you're not [bored]. Or otherwise want to.
