I am cynical, talkative, and apt.

My Self-Summary

Apparently I'm a geek, but not a nerd or a dork, which would probably explain some of my more esoteric interests. I'm heavily into music, quite possibly enough so that it's irritating. I have a strong belief in scrutinizing the media. I've got an addiction to irreverent ramblings and polysyllabic words.

What I’m doing with my life

Working as a radio production engineer, recording and editing voice, music and sound effects to create radio ads or station imaging.

I'd love to say that I've got my whole life planned out; start from the bottom at a radio station, work my way up to program director, leave the station, go overseas and become a voice-actor... but I haven't quite thought that far ahead.

I’m really good at

Overusing commas. Seriously, look through this bio and see how many superfluous commas there are. You'd be surprised.

The first things people usually notice about me

That I look like I haven't slept in days. It takes a lot of work, I assure you.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Almost anything written by Nick Hornby, I'm a huge sucker for formulaic fantasy novels or anything really with an interesting premise. Villa Incognito by Tom Robbins was the last thoroughly awesome book I read. Transmetropolitan is a contender for my favourite text of all time. I've also been chugging through Chuck Palahniuk's back catalogue lately.

Movies: Tarantino movies, American Beauty, The Big Chill (best movie soundtrack EVER), High Fidelity, Snakes On A Plane, movies that aren't named "Battlefield Earth".

Music: A few bands/artists I like better than Coldplay are:

Animal Collective, The Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, Battles, Bjork, Broken Social Scene, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Coheed & Cambria, Death Cab for Cutie, CSS, The Decemberists, Dresden Dolls, Explosions in the Sky, Faith No More, The Fall of Troy, Fat Freddy's Drop, Five Alarm Funk, The Flaming Lips, Foo Fighters, Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Gomez, Hot Chip, Hulk Hogan & The Wrestling Boot Band, Isis, Jeff Buckley, Jethro Tull, Kanye West, King Crimson, Kings of Leon, LCD Soundsystem, Le Tigre, Led Zepplin, Long Beach Dub Allstars, The Magic Numbers, The Magnetic Fields, The Mars Volta, Mastodon, Modest Mouse, Mogwai, Mr. Bungle, Muse, Neutral Milk Hotel, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, A Perfect Circle, Phil Collins, The Phoenix Foundation, Pink Floyd, Pixies, Porcupine Tree, Portishead, The Postal Service, Primus, Radiohead, Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Richard Cheese, The Ruby Suns, Ryan Adams, Salmonella Dub, Shapeshifter, Shihad, The Shins, Sigur Ros, Silversun Pickups, Smashing Pumpkins, The Smiths, Soundgarden, Spoon, Steve Miller Band, The Stone Roses, Stone Temple Pilots, The Strokes, Sublime, Sufjan Stevens, System of a Down, Thrice, Tomahawk, Tool, The Velvet Underground, Weezer, White Cowbell Oklahoma, Wilco. So basically I'm an indie hipster-wank wannabe. Enticing... no?

Foods: Most foods excepting of pumpkin and oysters.

The six things I could never do without

1. Music 2. Sarcasm 3. Skin pores 4. Rampant alcoholism (does anyone else out there understand the motivation that would be needed to be drunk by midday?) 5. John Cusack movies (don't ask, I don't even think I know why) 6. Gladwrap

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Whether contractions and such in texting is the first implementation of newspeak, how long is really too long to hold a door open for someone, why anyone would ever justifiably buy a $3 cookie, why Flash Gordon isn't revered as one of the greatest social commentaries of our time, who let the dogs out, whether a salt or sugar granule would win in a fight to the death, if it'd actually be possible to swim in a pool of jelly.

On a typical Friday night I am

Out at a bar with friends, playing pool with mates somewhere or watching a movie at a friend's house.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I honestly prefer the American version of The Office.
