My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I usually do the Sunday NYT crossword puzzle in under an hour and recently I've begun building proficiency in kenken. I'm also spending quite a bit of time these days meeting up with random French speakers as part of my efforts to learn that language. I ride my bike all over the city and beyond (except Staten Island. Thanks, Robert Moses.) I love pub quizzes, the Yankees and Coca Cola. I'm partial to books about history, neuroscience and the role that chance plays in our lives. I hold dual citizenship (U.S. and Ireland). I used to do improv comedy and still toy with the idea of doing stand-up.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a professional nerd, doing software development for a small shop that cranks out web and iPhone applications. I just recently moved to a new apartment after spending nine years in my previous one, so I'm excited about that. I'm mainly enjoying myself and not taking anything too seriously.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Crossword puzzles, trivia, solving problems, making my friends laugh and even managing to make strangers laugh on occasion (sometimes intentionally and sometimes not).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My overwhelming stench? I don't know. I'm not a mind reader.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
My favorite non-fiction book is The Power Broker. My favorite novel is Babbit. The best novel I've read recently is The Visible Man and the best non-fiction book is Thinking, Fast and Slow.

My taste in books, movies, music and food is pretty pedestrian. I love the first two Godfather movies, most Scorcese movies, anything with Peter Sellers. Some older movies I really enjoy are The Sweet Smell of Success, Citizen Kane, Casablanca, Sunset Boulevard and Some Like It Hot. There is also a very special place in my heart for The Room.

As far as music goes I put the Beatles up on a pedestal. Below them are the Rolling Stones, the Who, the Velvet Underground, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Chuck Berry, Bob Dylan, Radiohead and U2.

I'm not naturally adventurous when it comes to food, but I can be talked into trying just about anything.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Spending time outdoors
Internet access
Sweetened, caffeinated beverages
My bike
Trivia challenges
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Where I would live if I couldn't live in NYC.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose? home reading a book or at a bar having drinks with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Even though I don't really believe in God I once attended Mass because I promised Him I would do so if the Yankees came back to win a playoff game.
