My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Living in Berlin, teaching English, writing short stories, singing Opera, playing with my parrots, reading in cafes, lighting my coal ovens, not selling out for a buck or putting up with a government I despise...Any questions?

I am goofy, curious, and open
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Pretty much can be read in my self-summary and I hate needless repetition.....Grrr.....
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Having strange, saga-like dreams.
The first things people usually notice about me

a)Books by Robertson Davies, Nicholson Baker, Richard Ford, Nabokov, DeLillo, Faulkner, etc. b) all different generes. I've grown out of my snob phase for the most part. Yes it's true, French movies with no plot where everyone is cheating on each other can be wonderful, but sometimes you're just in the mood for Sandra Bullock...c) jazz (mainly be-bop, but also lounge-y standards), Funk and Soul, Classical/Opera (especially Verdi, Schumann, Brahms and late Beethoven)mixed in with Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, David Bowie, A Tribe called Quest and the Beastie Boys d)any food that's hot and spicy. I'm talking you sweat when you eat it
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
pets (at least a goldfish), music, good friends and good wine (preferably together), my self-respect, chocolate and/or ice cream
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How many pigeons are actually in the world. I mean, we must be talking in the trillions here. And how many of them have that weird foot disease anyway?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably at home. Who ever said I was cool?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I once had a job where I had to whack rats to death because snakes have to eat too and, apparently, children can become tramitized if they see snakes doing it (it was at a Nature Center.) And what about my trauma having to kill all those innocent rats which, by the way, make excellent pets (not at all like their Sewer living cousins.) Seriously though, I do feel bad about it. I really love animals.
