My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a self-styled intellectual who enjoys being exposed to new ideas and viewpoints, and prefer passionate discussion over politically-correct or non-confrontational quibbling. Ideas are toys to me, and I don't see why we should treat examination of some of them as taboo. Have fun with thinking, it's the best free entertainment.

As a result of the above, I tend to be fairly opinionated and abrasive. My grandfather once told me the mark of a good friend is being able to disagree with one another vehemently and still remain friends, and I'm inclined to agree with him. Just because I think you are all-caps WRONG about something doesn't mean I don't like you :)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm currently pursuing a graduate degree in Computer Science, focusing on data visualization. I spend some of my free time working on some software side-projects.

I currently live with my two cats, Worf and Wesley, in an apartment with one roommate.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Systems thinking, organizing software projects, and general problem solving. I'm not so good at time management, on the other hand :)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I tend to be shy initially, but once you get me talking, I tend not to shut up. People also usually notice that my vocabulary is pretty wide and varied, and sometimes poke fun at me for it.

Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Society, technology, and the future of the human race.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Playing Magic: The Gathering with my roommates, or hanging out on voice chat with a few of my video gaming friends, though more frequently as of late I've been programming for my own amusement.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I live off of a steady diet of Totino's Pizza Rolls, Hot Pockets, Taco Bell, and McDonald's. Despite this, I'm not overweight somehow.

I'm simultaneously put off by really flamboyent guys, but find slightly flamboyent guys really, really cute.

I've experienced clinical depression for years, and am currently on medication to deal with it, and seem to be doing so successfully. I feel like I'm constantly faking being a programmer. I have a deep, abiding worry that I'm not going to accomplish anything of note in my lifetime.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You can and generally prefer to write in complete sentences with a reasonable attempt at spelling and grammatical correctness. I don't expect perfection, but nothing is more of a turnoff than "lol" or "luv" or a complete lack of capitalization and punctuation. A few extra keystrokes won't kill you.

You're passionate about something and can't stop talking/thinking about it, be it sociology, computers, physics, mathematics, art. I'll try to keep up, and add what I can :)
