Moved to the bay in Sept of '09 from Seattle where I lived for a year. Lived in Honolulu, Hawaii before that for 5 years, and before that in a shitty little town in SoCal for 2. Originally? I'm from Michigan and I don't really miss it at all (except for the people didn't seem as pretentious as most of the west coast). I was enlisted in the Navy for 5 1/2 years and traveled all over the world because of it, but I am in no way, shape or form some sort of drooling neo-conservative and was quite verbally opposed to the Bush during his term. If that sounds contradictory, well... at 18, I had no idea how bad the war effort was going to get nor was I that politically educated or active. Times and people change quite a bit.

Into the nitty gritty of what drives me. I'm into Computers, programming, movies and their trivia, music and it's trivia, trivial trivia, video games, music production. I try to find humor in just about anything, laugh at the wrong moments, and interject pop-culture references into everyday conversation. Trying to broaden my horizons as much as possible is my main drive in life. I don't think that anyone should be able to be described in a handful of adjectives.

PLEASE feel free to check out and comment on my "Food pr0n" journal entry. I'm always looking for comments and suggestions :) There is also more in my Facebook album here: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=148955&id=736612561&l=a828d697be

My life is pretty awesome to me and hopefully you enjoy yours too. Definitely looking for someone to complement my life, not complete it.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a computer technician, yes.. a walking Bay Area cliche` in that regard. I counter balance this by eating red meat, telling offensive jokes, and firing a semi-automatic rifle into the air each morning.

(One of the above statements is false)

I also do some indie game development and audio production as a hobby. Overall, I'm doing what I love.
I’m really good at
collecting hobbies it seems. I'm a fairly decent cook, working mostly with meat (sorry veggie people :( ), composing pieces of music, modifying electronic gadgets to do things they aren't suppose to. I'd also say I'm pretty good at lightening up the mood when things get a bit too serious.

I'm a professional amateur.
The first things people usually notice about me
My septum ring, as odd as that may be. 9 times out of 10, I'll have random people walk up to me and have the first words out of their mouth be "Did that hurt?". Puzzled for a moment about what they speak of, I start running through the mental Rolodex: "Does it hurt to be so weird/ugly/insert pejorative term here", "Did it hurt when I fell from heaven"?, etc.. until it clicks. Ahh, the septum ring.

Also: I don't smile in photos. My first instinct when someone pulls out a camera is to exaggerate my facial expressions, so I counter that by removing ALL expression. I'm not perpetually pissed off, I promise.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Snow Crash, Neuromancer, Phillip K Dick short stories, Anything by Chuck Palahniuk, Big giant textbooks on how to do stuff..

Guilty Pleasures: Big Trouble In Little China, They Live, Escape From New York, Total Recall, Running Man, Johnny Mnemonic, Hackers..

TV Shows: The Wire, Heroes, Numb3rs, Lost, The Sopranos, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Good Eats, Law And Order, House, Battlestar Galactica, Caprica, Eureka, Warehouse 13, Iron Chef, Top Chef, Breaking Bad, The IT Crowd, True Blood, A bunch of shows on Revision3.com, Doctor Who, House, Breaking Bad, Fringe, Sherlock... and a fuckload more.

Music: Mindless Self Indulgence, Aphex Twin, Aesop Rock, Panic! At The Disco, 80's new wave, 90's alternative, Indie Rap, (just because I don't feel like listing every band I've ever heard of), and generally music that isn't whiny by nature (here's looking at you, emo and country!).
The six things I could never do without
1. My daily coffee(s)
2. My gang of rabblerousers and social maladjusts.
3. Computerized gadgetry
4. Music (Though some would argue about dubstep being music)
5. Movies
6. Quick access to information (be it via books or internet)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Different ways to play on words and perfecting the art of snark. On more serious days: how awesome it would be to be good at everything.

Whether it's numberwang or not.

Why EVERYONE in the bay area likes rock climbing? *shrugs*

Why a lot of people are embarrassed to have a profile on here, as if it's any worse than meeting someone at a bar/club. "So, then we started rubbing our naughty bits indiscriminately against one another, then she threw up on my shoes and spent the rest of the night in the bathroom crying her eyes out. That's how I met your mother, kids."
On a typical Friday night I am
Wandering about this beautiful city, preparing some sort of meal for my friends/housemates or going to a show/movie/concert. I'm not much of a club person, but can always be convinced to go if the company is good.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm addicted to floss-picks.

I've always wanted to break out into a spontaneous musical/dance number in public and have everyone around join in ala "(500) Days of Summer"/"Clerks 2".

I'm insanely experimental about kink and have a laundry list of things I'm into. Ask if you want OR you can just check out my fetlife profile: https://fetlife.com/users/23587 (Yes, I'm a kinkster, no I'm not shy about it, and NO this doesn't mean I just want to get into your pants). Like-minded folk are always awesome to find.

Also, and only because I keep reading the same response to this OKC question over and over again: The question is "The MOST PRIVATE thing you're WILLING to admit", not "What's your deepest, darkest secret that no one else knows about". Sharing something interesting about yourself that others may not know is not necessarily a bad thing. Just saying. :P
