My self-summary
Important Note: As of 10/30/2012, I've been hired by a major cruise line (Celebrity Cruises) as a lighting designer, programmer, and operator. I'll be back May First after spending six months in South America, with my home ports being located between Chile, Argentina, and Antarctica.

You can view a TON of pictures I've taken since I left November 7th, 2012 on my Facebook. http://www.facebook.com/mattrmedia

Up until recently I only really considered someone local. After seeing so many countries, cities, and towns, I'm very open to the idea of meeting anyone that's a potential match. That person just needs to understand that I do travel for work, and I'm generally gone for six months at a time and back for two. I have internet and phone service, but it doesn't make for the most ideal relationship situation. If you think you can live with that, then feel free to reach out. I'm an open door and I'm willing to discuss anything/everything.

I do lots of things. I’m certified in several areas computer/technology related, I’m a musician who can play several instruments (e.g. saxophone, drums, re-learning the piano and trumpet right now), I’m a lighting designer for concerts and special events, I’m a very capable driver (I can back large trucks into tiny tiny spaces), and I’m currently a software developer for my own company by trade.

I don’t have the widest variety when it comes to a taste for foods. It’s unfortunate, since it tends to clash with my love for traveling. Speaking of traveling, I’ve been on 18 cruises thus far. I’ve been all over the caribbean and parts of South and Central America. I’ve also been all over New York and to Boston.

As far as music is concerned, I tend to listen to various forms of Rock over anything else, although there will always be a soft spot for old school hip hop and certain recent hip hop groups like the Soliloquists of Sound. Progressive Rock is my primary preference. Groups such as Pink Floyd, Rush, Dream Theater, anything Neal Morse related, Porcupine Tree, etc... are bands I can listen to endlessly. The Black Keys, the Arctic Monkeys, Dave Matthews, Moe, Lamb of God, Nevermore, Royksopp, etc... are some other various bands that fit into a variety of genres I also listen to.

As a lighting technician I’ve ended up working all over Florida and the Keys. It’s an insanely fun job once you get passed the back breaking hard physical labor when you don’t have the luxury of union workers doing the hard work for you. I’ve done work for Earth Wind & Fire, The Plain White T’s, The Last Goodnight, Vanessa Carlton, Colby Cailiat, Mary Wilson, The Spinners, Ingrid Michaelson, Less Than Jake, Arrested Development (the band), and an ungodly amount of other bands: Almost 600 in total. I’m sure I’m missing some national acts in there, but that’s alright. No, I don’t meet the bands 95% of the time. I do that by choice. Yes, I can get you into shows. But no, I won’t :)
What I’m doing with my life
I do a lot of things. I write/design computer software, am starting up a Voice Over IP Telephony company, and do professional audio recordings. I used to do a lot of videography for the Adelphia channel and I'm just now starting to take on still photography as a hobby. I play drums freelance right now for various recording sessions, but I am associated with a local band full-time titled The Great Beyond. We're a folk rock band, but we play a LOT more than just folk rock. Since I do audio recordings, I've done a lot of tracking for independent musicians on drums.

I'm developing some software applications right now for a few different industries: A server monitoring system, a health tracking website (exercise and diet monitoring), and I'm contemplating starting either a dating site similar to this one or a more adult oriented form of it. I'm not sure if I'll do either. Probably the more "all ages" version since there's more advertising opportunity. As of more recently, I'm primarily focusing on an application for Web Host Automation. It's an application that handles client management, billing, technical support, automated account provisioning, etc... for the Internet Service Provider industry.
I’m really good at
Drumming. I'm a drummer, and I've laid down drum tracks for numerous recordings for independent artists. My drum kit is something that took me years to build up. It's a Tama Performer B/B (Hybrid Bubinga and Birch shells). A photo of it is in my photos thing.

Aside from music, quite a few things, but it's just about all technology related.

- Software Development
- Concert / Theatrical Lighting Design
- Photography
- Computer Repair

Most importantly, My friends & Family
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What I'm going to do next in life. I'm always trying to pick up new hobbies, start new businesses. I'm always going out and trying new things when it comes to technology. I'm never content with just the knowledge I have: I always want to learn more. If you have something to teach, I definitely want to meet you :)
On a typical Friday night I am
At home watching movies or working on some sort of project. I don't usually go out and I don't like to drink.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Apparently I write too much on profiles.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys

  • Located anywhere
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You're an interesting person. I'm open to talking to anyone.
