My self-summary
I'm just like the summer, completely. And slightly like the spring. Yet, I am amazed at how the winter makes me feel like taking a walk all day long, it's one of my favourite seasons for travelling exactly because it gives me the opportunity to know the cities simply by taking my walks and not getting tired as I do so.

I'm not a deserted island: I'm absolutely a metropolis. I could even be an island, but it surely wouldn't be deserted and I couldn't be one for more than a week.

I adore the smell of the rain, it's nostalgic for some reason and it brings back amazing memories of my childhood. I do confess I'm quite stubborn when I want to and quickly lose interest over new things and people, but at the same time I adore all of those imperfections, I believe everyone is happier when accepting them.

I am music, a lot of music... MUSIC! Did I mention I love music? Movies, movies, movies, dancing until I can't feel my legs anymore.

I adore sports. I do confess that ever since I found out my knees are lazy bastards who whine whenever I want the best out of them, I can't practice the ones I adore the most so frequently - which would be tennis and volleyball. I substituted those for running, which I am quite sure also bothers my knees, but well, such is life. I also practice Krav Maga and really enjoy it, even though my arms are always purple somewhere and I am afraid people will think my husband is a wife beater.

I also adore watching sports on TV and I can be a remote control controller, but that can be negotiated. Basically, my father wanted a son and so taught me everything, from soccer to formula 1 and now he openly roots for my soccer team, even when it plays against his own favourite.

While watching volleyball I will scream at the TV, guide the players and talk to the coach like he could possibly hear me. This is likely the scariest me you will ever witness. Sometimes he does exactly what I suggest, so I won't cease until someone proves me he can't listen at all. It's the only sport that will make me lose my temper, so if my team loses, don't believe making a joke out of it will be a good idea.

I do think of other things I could mention, but perhaps it's better if they are discovered later, or not!

I am smiley, freckled, and talkative
What I’m doing with my life
I am currently living in Basel, Switzerland, where I worked on my Masters Degree on Peace Conflict Resolution and finished my thesis focused on genocide prevention. Classes are over so now I work at the University, on the same department of the course I attended as an Academic Collaborator preparing summer courses, facilitating mediation workshops and giving eventual lectures. No, we don't hold hands and sing Imagine by John Lennon. In fact, I love the Beatles in all of their eras but I absolutely hate that song.

I am also currently going crazy trying to figure out how I can put together a phD proposal while working, assisting students and having fun. It's likely to be focused on development-induced displacement.

I am very good at putting up IKEA furniture, so every time we get a new piece, I am the one to set it up.

Originally I'm from Brazil and I miss the tons of orange juice I'd get, hanging out whenever I want with my amazing friends and crazy-perfect parents and how much cheaper things were... But I have to confess I am pretty much in love with Basel anyway and my life here, though again, miss my awesome people and dogs.

Also miss the two bands I used to be the lead singer of. The guys were great and the gigs were fun, with my dad always in the front row dancing like there was no tomorrow.
I’m really good at
People Watching whenever a place feels boring;
Predicting lines on movies;
Cooking! Not chef-like, but I enjoy trying out a new recipe per week...
I like to believe I am really good at my job as well, but I am inspired by professors who are a zillion times better than me, so let's say I am on my way...
The first things people usually notice about me
My black curly hair that refuses to be tamed;
And my tons of freckles, everywhere.

Food: Roasted pork tenderloin, salad with mustard and honey sauce. And tomatoes, everyday. Potatoes and onions are also pretty amazing. I am into italian and mexican food, along with brazilian wonders from all over the country. In recent years I've been more adventurous when it comes to food. That being said, I also became more conscious about meat-eating in hopes to make Paul McCartney proud. I do not eat meat during weekdays anymore, but I currently do not plan to become a vegetarian.

TV: The Good Wife - I am originally a lawyer, so watching this show reminds me how good it was to give a different turn to my life and use the law knowledge somewhere else... (:
Grey's Anatomy; That 70's show; Will & Grace; Arrested Development; The Walking Dead (Miss you forever, Dale!); The Big Bang Theory...
The six things I could never do without
1. Constant music;
2. My weekly trip to the movies;
3. A yellow guitar pick I keep on my wallet for good luck;
4. News feeds;
5. Friends and family, pets included;
6. Comfortable underwear

In no particular order
I spend a lot of time thinking about
If I have an unfinished task, I will probably go over it on my head a million times until it is done.
On a typical Friday night I am
Back in Brazil I'd be on the couch of my friend Moema, while all of our friends are gathered on her living room doing anything we feel like. That or out at a bar with the same people who would be gathered on her living room if we had stayed at home.

In Switzerland, usually out having some expensive long drinks or at home with hubby laughing over anything.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I still go to my pediatrician whenever I feel sick. He knows every single tiny disease I've had and I can handle the odd looks from the moms who take their babies there, so why not?

Also, I have a thing for big noses and I am very short of patience when it comes to overly-excited people.
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 20–99
  • Located anywhere
  • For new friends, activity partners, long-distance penpals
You should message me if
You feel like doing.
Please, do not message me if you don't feel like doing, because it will be awkward for the both of us.

Do notice, please, that I am married and I am not polygamous nor interested in affairs. "Oh, why are you even on OkCupid", you ask yourself, to which I tell you! I have made amazing friends through this website and met my husband here. So sue me if I am too attached to OkC and love the silly tests and the nice people.

Also, it would definitely be interesting if you could keep a conversation about the most variate subjects ever, could distinguish India from Indiana and point out my country on a map.
