My self-summary
My biggest passion in life is physics and mathematics, which I pursue academically. The pursuit of deep understanding of nature and logic is an integral part of my being. Although I am generally introverted, I am very social and talkative with the few people I like. I've created this profile in hopes to cross paths with some intelligent individuals with whom I could reciprocate knowledge and enjoy life together. I can guarantee you, if I'd enjoy your company, you'd enjoy mine.

I've noticed that many people online get the impression I'm a stiff geezer since I'm into physics and math and some people in the real world that first see me perceive me as some kind of a delinquent stoner (especially US border guards). I assure you I am neither of those, though oxymoronically, maybe a bit of both.
What I’m doing with my life
Learning, understanding and expressing fundamental natural phenomena using the richest, most rigorous and most elegant language we humans have; mathematics.
I’m really good at
Physics, math and procrastination. Also by the standards of many non-musicians and 'musicians' in genres that all the youngsters are into, I'm a really good guitar player. By Jazz standards, I'm a horrible guitar player.
The first things people usually notice about me
is that I'm less redundant than zero inner product. Incidentally, new acquaintances often describe me as a "magnificent specimen" and a "cool cat".
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I mostly listen to Jazz and Jazz fusion, stuff like: Mahavishnu Orchestra, Return to Forever, Greg Howe, Guthrie Govan, Allan Holdsworth, Weather Report, Jean Luc Ponty, Chick Corea, Casiopea, Frank Gambale, John Coltrane, Lenny Breau, pat Metheny, Charlie Parker and Miles Davis.

I read loads everyday but it's usually non-fiction and has lots of Greek letters (that don't form Greek words). Excluding technical science literature, I've enjoyed "What is Life?" by Schrodinger, Orwell's "1984" and "Animal Farm", Melville's "Moby Dick" and "Billy Bud" and "Alice in Wonderland" by Carroll among others.

Shows: The Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Arrested Development and a few of Ricky Gervais shows, especially the ones that include Karl Pilkington.

Some of my favorite movies are And Justice for All, Silence of the Lambs, Good Will Hunting, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, A Serious Man, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Pulp Fiction and Django Unchained.
On a typical Friday night I am
Catching up on the latest absurdities of life with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
When I was 14 I had a surgery on my broken arm. Just before the surgery, as I was lying on the operating table with my semi-long hair tucked in the transparent plastic hospital hat and in a hospital gown, the two surgeons started to talk among themselves as they were preparing for the operation. One surgeon said to the other in Russian (which I understand very well): "Shit, this operation again, and on a girl too". The other surgeon, who has spoken to me before and knew I spoke Russian quickly replied: "Are you crazy, that's a boy and he's one of us too".

So yeah, I was confused for a girl by a reluctant surgeon when I was 14.
