My self-summary
I'd say my self-summary is best heard ;)
What I’m doing with my life
I completed my first stint of travelling last year & can now relate to the near-universal fascination with it on here.

Other than that, making my own meandering way to the path that fits. Looking to keep my options open & expand my horizons (not only in the career department)....
I’m really good at
I like to think there's a few things, but I'm keen to avoid the fate of becoming jack of all trades, master of none.

I'll list some obscure ones:
1) Hearing a bit of a song I really like on a show/movie and successfully tracking it down on Google
2) Being slightly obsessive when it comes to recycling
3) Spending a little too much time on internet forums: they are strangely addictive. Add to that the blogosphere
4) And thinking a lot about locations - a sense of place is important to me & finding the right one even more so

A couple of things I'd like to get better at include cooking (which I'm slowly sucking less at) and learning new languages.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'd need to be a mind reader to know that, perhaps you might tell me sometime!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music, a big interest: Zero 7, Gang Gang Dance, Grimes, Goldfrapp, Bjork, Morcheeba, Imogen Heap, Laura Mvula, Beverley Knight, Aimee Mann, John Legend, Lamb, Nitin Sawhney and Floetry to name a few off the top of my head, but my wide-ranging taste takes in alternative/indie, ambient/electronica, soul, easy listening, trip-hop, Buddhist chant music, all sorts of "world music" to use that clumsy term, the occasional decent pop/dance/RnB/soft rock record, even classical music in all its forms.

Books: Many.
Non-fiction on limitless topics - social/global issues, history, culture, politics, psychology, art, paranormal/mystic/spiritual (out of curiosity), science (mostly social, occasionally the hard stuff), ecology/wildlife....
Fiction: Anything from fantastical to funny.

Movies: many. Quite often the subtle, understated ones get my attention, but I like the occasional mainstream hit.

TV shows: Lately I've been enjoying Nurse Jackie, Hung, Grandma's House and The Big Bang Theory. BBC 4 docs.

Food: I really enjoy eating out & discovering any great new restaurants. I like a fair variety of cuisines (Thai, Chinese, Indian, Spanish, Mexican, Moroccan, Italian etc), but there's nothing like a bit of traditional English when it's done really well. I've a bit of a sweet tooth too, so anything involving chocolate is a good bet.
The six things I could never do without
Tea, freshly baked bread, hot showers and my bed are in there somewhere. The smell of fresh laundry. Oh and flapjack, can never get bored of that.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Too much, I can easily while away hours sitting and thinking.
On a typical Friday night I am
Depends on who I'm with, but usually relaxing with a friend over a bottle of wine and enjoying a movie.

If it involves going out, then heading to a decent restaurant and then on to a cosy bar. Or going to see a gig/show/event of some description.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
That I'm sometimes envious of cats. I think they get to live an almost perfect way of life.
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 20–45
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, long-distance penpals
You should message me if
- you're down-to-earth, kind, friendly/approachable, modest and are at least as deep as you are shallow.

- and you're looking for a connection, someone to share an enjoyable experience with - whether that be a stroll in the park, a meal in or out, a show or exhibit, or something else entirely.....any suggestions?
