I am demure, enigmatic, and indecisive.

My Self-Summary

I could really do with an updated photo to put atop my profile - the one above was taken in September 2003 - but I am not particularly photogenic, so I struggle to find photos of myself that I like.

I shall try to make this worth reading, but I am not making any promises. Alright, here goes...

Originally from Nuneaton, I ended up in Cardiff when I came here in September 2002 to go to university, and have remained here since.

I graduated from uni in 2006. It was only supposed to have been a 3 year course, but, after having a shocker in many of my exams in my (first) final year - I only passed 5 of the 14 modules that I took - it became a 4 year course; fortunately, my second final year was much more successful, as I passed all of the modules that I took and got myself a degree in Maths.

The youngest of 3 children, I have an older brother who is old enough to be my Dad, and an older sister (who is not quite old enough to be my Mum). My Dad once told me that I am the most intelligent of his children, but also the least confident. Now, I am not sure about whether or not I am the most intelligent, after all, neither my brother nor my sister failed a year when they were at uni, but I am certainly the least confident - I guess that my lack of confidence links with me being frustratingly shy (I am no extrovert). As for other family members, I became an uncle when I was only 7 years old, and I now have 3 nieces and 1 nephew.

Right, this is the part where I fail to show a range of interests and instead end up coming accross as being 1 dimensional. My main interest is sport, my favourite sport being football - I am a West Bromwich Albion season ticket holder and I am also a shareholder.

Other sports that I like are Rugby League (my favourite team being Bradford Bulls), American Football (Green Bay Packers), Cricket (Warwickshire (Bears)), Tennis (my favourite players being Elena Dementieva, Ana Ivanovic and others...), as well as several more.

I do also have other interests, but I want to avoid being cliched (by putting down things such as reading - besides, that gets touched upon in one of the other sections anyway); in the "Interests" section of my CV, struggling to think of things that would make me seem interesting to an employer, I opted to put down "Theme Parks" as one of my interests - I wonder, is this something that is unique to my CV?

What I’m doing with my life

In the first 15 months after graduating, I struggled to find employment - I had 3 jobs, which saw me work for a total of just under 6 weeks, with the first 2 jobs only lasting 2 days each (for differing reasons; you can read more about my time at my first post graduation job in an entry in my blog). Thankfully, at the beginning of October '07, I finally got the break that I had been looking for, when I landed a job at Eversheds as a Legal Administrator, which I then followed up by being promoted to Legal Assistant in January of the following year.

I am living in my seventh different place in Cardiff in 8 years - the flat that I am currently living in is the first place in Cardiff where I have lived for longer than 12 months.

When not at work, I enjoy playing on my Playstation 3, watching TV or DVDs, listening to CDs or the radio, reading, drinking, eating, or doing a combination of those. I also like to venture to one of the many bars or pubs that are within walking distance of where I live, or to the cinema that one of my housemates works at. I no longer have as much time to do these thing as I once did, although, whilst my current job does not give me as much free time as being unemployed did, it does at least pay better than being on the dole.

I’m really good at

wiggling my ears.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Why is there not a category for TV shows in the above question? Actually, that is something that I have only ever thought about once, but whilst I am on the subject, here are some of my favourite TV shows: The Daily Show, Dark Angel, Dead Like Me, Dream Team, Family Guy, Father Ted, Futurama, Game On, Kim Possible, Lost, Men Behaving Badly, The Office, Red Dwarf, Scrubs, Seinfeld, The Simpsons, Six Feet Under, Soccer AM, South Park, Sugar Rush, That 70s Show, Totally Spies, Trigger Happy TV, Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place/Two Guys and a Girl.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I have a small bald patch, although it is almost always covered from view by my fringe. It is the result of a bout of alopecia [areata] that I had when I was 8; my doctor said that the hair would grow back, but it never has.

You should message me if

you want to, I guess. Frankly, if you have made it this far down then, regardless of whether or not you do send me a message, I am just impressed that you did not give up reading my profile much earlier on.
