Ok, here goes nothing.

I like languages and traveling. I read and watch science fiction. I like card games and board games. I participate in a water ballet in Baltimore. I am learning how to hula hoop with different tricks and things. I enjoy crafting and I want to learn beading. I like cycling though I have an injury currently that is preventing me from doing so :(. I like long hair, especially on guys. I like all kinds of music including Brazilian music, hip hop, dance music, house, girl groups, new wave, post punk, and many other sorts of music. I used to be a rabid fan of Stereolab, but I have since calmed down about that. I still see them several times per tour :).

Oh yeah, and I play in a samba reggae band.

What I’m doing with my life

I am a teacher. I like to travel when I can. I try to keep myself occupied with many hobbies that involve working with others toward a creative endeavor. It keeps me feeling human.

I like learning languages and I like crafts when I have the time. I am also good at useless trivia and word games such as Boggle. :)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I recently read "Fledgling" by Octavia Butler and really enjoyed it. I mostly read science fiction or something related, though I can't stand sword and sorcery type things. Blech. I prefer comedies and scifi movies to anything else. My music tastes are extremely varied, multinational, and multilingual. I like pretty much any cuisine, especially Indian food and Indo-Caribbean food. I'm getting hungry just thinking about food!

The six things I could never do without

In no particular order: The Internet, the ability to learn, friends, cats, music, and good things to read or watch.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

anti-racism, science fiction, where I want to travel next, my friends, music, and food :)

On a typical Friday night I am
