I am calm, cool, and collectible.

My Self-Summary

College grad, just recent enough to be over the excitement of finding a career based on a liberal arts degree. I enjoy simple things: reading, writing, sitting in public places, biking everywhere (left my bike in the southeast, haven't gotten a new one yet), cooking, swimming, and trying to use hyphens more. What I am doing for jollies right now includes getting acquainted with S.F., web design, and reading anna karenina amongst other things. Actually, didn't really get through AK, not for a lack of trying...just too novel... da du dum.

What I’m doing with my life

Trying to define my environment. Spent some time in NY which didn't pan out. Now I'm acclimating to the Bay area, which essentially consists of trying to make wigs for a living and walking around to orient myself to a new city. I also write a plethora of letters, read a prodigious amount of reference books, and placate a profuse...ahh whatever.

I’m really good at

telling embarrassing stories. being snarky. being patient. thrift store shopping. cooking one or two specific dishes.

The first things people usually notice about me

my eyelashes or my lazy eye (depending on the observer's disposition).

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

books:
Borges, Eco, DFW, South American writers?, Tufte; reading Tropic of Capricorn and a book by a first wave feminist writer, I like to deal in dichotomies...
movies:
Institute Benjamenta, Royal Tenenbaums, The Professional (?!) (those are my favorites, but I will watch ANYTHING approaching entertaining.
music:
I really listen to anything, sad enough to admit. Right now it's a hip-hop group (prolyphic & reanimator) while I walk the streets of SF. Otherwise it's usually a female vocal/chill beats combo. Then again I'm always trying to catch up on the classics like morrisey, velvet underground, MBV, etc. I listen to current cool stuff, too. Just quiz me. I dare you.
Food:
having worked in a kitchen has limited my creativity. I do like sushi, spicy foods(thai/indian/vietnamese), seafood and/or tacos, etc. when eating out. At home I generally prefer soups, salads, or easy things. Cooking is usually either making a night of it or something quick and filling. It's my goal to eventually bake a loaf of bread.

The six things I could never do without

-friends
-a jacket
-stationary
-sunglasses
-cup of tea in the morning (I tend to abuse coffee)
-nature, or good scotch (but not together).

I spend a lot of time thinking about

-if they invented dryclean to corner the laundry market.
-is drinking by oneself really that bad?
-why smoking is so hard to quit when I know it's bad for me.
-etc.

On a typical Friday night I am

a. working;
b. drinking;
c. at home reading; and/or
d. walking around the neighborhood

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I have a strange predilection for parachute pants, as in I own a pair hoping one day that I will, in fact, have an occasion to wear them. But not in an ironic way.
I also really like jackets.

You should message me if

-You get a warm feeling from sarcasm.
-Any sunglasses you own are relatively proportional to the size of your face.
-You have a good grasp of grammar and spelling.
-You're more interested in word games than mind games.
