"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." ~ Dr. Seuss

Friends would describe me as loyal and caring, wanting to do right by people, and intellectually curious. I try to keep up with and enjoy discussing current events and politics.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Bay Area native, at a Palo Alto law firm analyzing data at the intersection of technology and legal discovery.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Enjoying the moment. Having interesting conversations about current events, politics, gadgets, and food.

I'm a single digit handicap golfer, but I've been playing since high school. Sadly, I'm not as good at giving lessons, my friends are proof of that, but if they want a tip, I try to help them out.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm always quick to laugh and smile. I'm a little shy with new people, but once I get to know you, I open up. That I'm left handed, kind of.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I really enjoy foods, but always partial to good sushi, a nice thin NY style or Chicago deep dish pizza, a nicely seasoned rare steak, a flavorful bowl of ramen, or fresh summertime caprese salad with heirloom tomatoes. I love the amazing aroma and taste of a fresh cup of coffee! I have a weakness for dark chocolate. Ok, there is also a slight weakness for portuguese sausage, rice, eggs, loco moco, and spam musubis. After all of that, I think I need to hit the gym.

I love a crisp IPA on a hot summer evening/day, and I won't resist being offered a gin and tonic with a lime. I enjoy drinking wine, and managed the beer and wine department at Berkeley Bowl for a few months; I never really tasted all the flavors that the vendors would describe. I can only really tell you what I enjoy and what I don't care for. I don't get the Asian blush when drinking.

Currently reading Pay Any Price, but recently read Flash Boys, Family of Secrets, and Imperial Life in The Emerald City. I'm catching up, but I'm a little behind in my subscriptions to the New Yorker and Vanity Fair, and there are a few books on Excel that I need to read for work. I enjoy articles by Matt Taibbi from Rolling Stone, Robert Reich, Michael Lewis, and a few blogs on new gadgets or gear. Most recently my reads have been keeping up on technology, legal blogs and politics.

Somewhat recent movies that I've enjoyed have been Furious 7, Selma, and Ex Machina. But my favorites cover the spectrum from dramas to comedies to action films, including A River Runs Through It, American President, My Cousin Vinny, Back to the Future, Fifth Element, Snatch, the Bourne series, the Hangover, to things like Iron Man, the Matrix, and 300. I have to admit I dislike horror movies. I catch the occasional sporting event or Suits on television, but I miss MSNBC.

As far as taste in music, it is an eclectic mix of hip hop, R&B, 80's, classic rock, house, pop, rap, and island 98.5 with iokopo, common kings, fiji and j boog thrown in to mellow things out. I also enjoy catching a musical here and there.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
family and friends
intellectual curiosity
new challenges
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
legal privilege issues, my golf swing, the next book to read, politics and economics
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
If I'm not stuck at work trying to meet a deadline, I'm out with friends for dinner or drinks after a long week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Remember Hitch? Sadly, I dance like Hitch and not like Albert.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You're secure enough to be single, but choose a relationship because it's something you want, not something you need. This is of course reciprocal. Hopefully we won't have any staring matches and we'll go from there. Bonus points if you enjoy golf or want to learn.
