I am intelligent, generous, and a bit of a goof.
My Self-Summary
Most people who know me say that I'm the guy they'd call when
they've just broken up with their significant other and need
somebody to go out for a beer with, or the guy who they'll call
when they're stranded in a foreign country unable to actually
access any of the money in their bank account (the latter of which
has actually happened). Those examples really show what type of
person I am. I have good close friends whom I care a lot about, and
I am loyal and generous.
Another aspect of my personality is my curiosity. I consider myself
an intelligent, well-read person who is always eager to learn more.
I am as at home talking about the most recent movies as I am about
French philosophy.
I happen to be from New Jersey (don't hold it against me), but most
recently spent 4 years in Chicago at the University of Chicago,
where I got my undergraduate degree and my Masters. Then it was off
to San Francisco for a year. Now, I'm back in Chicago working and
going to school.
In my free time, I enjoy cooking, checking out new restaurants, and
exploring the city. I am a bit of a foodie, so look forward to nice
dinners if we should hang out. I also enjoy traveling (I'd love to
go to Rome or Singapore next) and I do try to make a concerted
effort to go to the gym regularly.
What I’m doing with my life
If I only knew....
No really, I'm currently working, going to grad school, and having
a life. I am not sure there is much more I could be doing.
I’m really good at
Marking dinner reservations, and finding ways to get my friends out
of trouble when they get into it. I also happen to be good at
keeping on top of the news and the blogopshere, being a nerd, and
gift giving.
The first things people usually notice about me
The first thing people usually notice about me is my handshake. I
also happen to be a bit short
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
If I tell you everything here we're not going to have anything to
discuss over dinner.
But briefly, as for books, I've recently read and enjoyed "Founders
at Work," "The New Kings of Non-Fiction," and "The Yiddish
Policemen's Union." I don't always get out to see as many movies as
I would like, but if I do, I'll watch anything from action to
sci-fi to comedy. I like to listen to many types of music, but
lately I've really been digging GirlTalk and Radio Head. And let's
not even get started on food.....I like everything and anything
when it comes to eating, but especially the really good food.
The six things I could never do without
My iPhone, the New York Times, wi-fi, coffee, Google Reader and
air.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What I'm doing with my life, where I should travel next, computers
and everything related to them, blogging, and what I should eat for
dinner.
On a typical Friday night I am
By Friday night I'm typically pretty exhausted from work, but on a
more adventurous Friday night, I love to go to the Mission and hang
out with people there. I'm also cool with making a nice dinner at
home, and going to see a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I am in Mensa, and it is delightfully awkward
You should message me if
You like good food, you have a good sense of humor, you don't mind
the fact that I'm short and going bald (a little!) and that I can't
sing on-key, you like to read and keep up with current events and
want to talk about them, and you enjoy technology. Or any of the
above.
