I am thoughtful, intelligent, with a large heart, full of humor and some quirks. I value honesty, respect, self-awareness, curiosity, and a willingness to take risks. I enjoy good conversations, travel, creating and contemplating art, reading and discussing books -- both quiet and fun times. I take pleasure in the beauty of our world as it unfolds and I shudder at what we do to others on this earth. I commit random acts of kindness whenever possible.
Sharing and allowing each person's self, space and joy of life, as well as learning and growing together are paramount. Individuals, community, and the planet are all important. I look forward to new experiences and gentle times, balanced with pushing limits.
I am now retired after a good academic experience. While teaching Architecture and Environmental Planning I was also active in Latin American Studies and Study Abroad. I care deeply about the land, what we do and don't do to the planet, as well as each other. Does "Deep Ecology" have meaning? Bringing these issues into the classroom - always important.
I have traveled and lived abroad, giving me other languages, cultural experiences and life, and would enjoy more travel. When I think of spending time with someone, the activities may be widely varied, AND I'll work up to more, depending on shared interests. I LOVE spending time out of doors, though I am not a 'sun' person. Water, snow, beaches -- the intensity and colors of nature in its ever-changing light -- all of these delight me!
You? Definitely someone who needs, thrives in, the outside world. The colors, music and beauty of our life on this planet must move you. Joy, humor, and playfulness are all part of everyday life, while an awareness of humanity's dark side is necessary and balancing. Sharing time and alone time must be important to you too. Respect, listening, openness are 'givens' as well as an awareness that each of us has a history, experience from which to move forward?!
