My self-summary
I am deeply fascinated by the world I live in. I love getting to know people well, though I often feel that it does not come naturally to me. A friend once told me that I was the most scientifically minded person he knew. I took this as a compliment. I like being outside and going on walks without a destination. I really like intricacies in art and in nature. I am incredibly patient. I think enjoying your life and helping other people enjoy theirs is the most important thing.

In high school, I was voted "Most wish you were stranded with on a desert island." I'm still proud of that one.
What I’m doing with my life
Starting yet another academic research job (making computer models of human behavior), applying to philosophy grad school, writing absurd and/or science-y songs, and wondering if this website is worth the time I spend on it.
I’m really good at
Keeping an open mind.
The first things people usually notice about me
I do much more listening than talking.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Gödel, Escher, Bach

Movies: Pixar, The Big Lebowski, Adaptation, But I'm a Cheerleader.

TV: Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Carl Sagan's Cosmos.

Music: They Might Be Giants and Frank Zappa. And anyone else that playfully blends musical genres. It is very hard to find music that I genuinely don't like.

Food: Ice cream. And I will always defend vanilla as a legitimate flavor, not just "plain".
The six things I could never do without
My guitar/keyboard
My curiosity
Collective human knowledge
Coffee
Math
Someone to share my experiences.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Large numbers and infinity, the role of gender in human interactions, the musical instruments I still want to learn, how computers and the internet are changing the world, computer-based art projects, how science is often misrepresented, how language works, how awesome evolution is, and how atheists can advance their worldview without creating a culture war with religious groups. Also, for the sake of honesty, breasts.
On a typical Friday night I am
Browsing OkCupid with my left and playing the piano with my right hand.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm way more turned off by people who get the logic/math/grammar match questions wrong on here than I care to admit. I'm also slightly embarrassed about the fact that I think my "personality" tab does a really good job of describing me.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 22–32
  • Near me
  • For new friends
You should message me if
Just go ahead and do it. I like getting notes.

But definitely if you are any or all of the following:
- a feminist
- an atheist/skeptic/materialist
- a scientist/mathematician/computer scientist
- sex positive
- a dancing machine
- an artist
- a teacher
- super enthusiastic about your interests

Also, I'm definitely more attracted to women, but I try not to get hung up on gender, so I'm open to everyone.
