Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Professionally speaking, I'm a chef. I'm on a bit of a sabbatical
right now, taking time for myself.
I'm looking for friends and partners in crime; I'm not interested
in pursuing anything super serious, but I'm thinking a date might
be a fun thing.
It would be great to have some of these things in common if we're
likely to get along: pubs>clubs, gorging on good TV dramas,
beer, overthinking everything all the time everywhere, daydreaming,
couch-cuddling, sarcasm, architecture, nerdery, the worst jokes
ever, quiet time, American politics as spectator sport (and Jon
Stewart and Colbert), and cheese.
I really like honest, genuine people. Creativity is a big winner in
my books too, as is willingness to get into deep, meandering
I am fidgety, spoony, and surprisingly crunchy.
If you 'like' me, send a message, hey?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Doing a lot of thinking. Trying to get my shit (back?) together.
Trying to figure out how to be a good feminist & trans ally
without stomping about with privilege. Writing a semi-intermittent
blog, mostly about my life as it's unfolded/ing, but not
exclusively. Teaching myself to paint (abstract, not
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
This is one of those things I'm really thinking about these
I'm really good at overthinking is what I'm saying here.
Apparently I'm pretty good at making dinner. And breakfast. In bed,
if you're special.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably that I'm being sarcastic, I dunno. What did you notice

I read a lot. Some favourite authors: Guy Gavriel Kay, Tolkien,
Noam Chomsky, Neal Stephenson, Stephen R. Donaldson. Hmm. Should
probably start reading more female authors. Suggestions? (NOT
Margaret Atwood thanks.) I also devour a lot of longform journalism
TV, short list: Top Chef, Hell's Kitchen (guilty pleasure),
MasterChef (ditto), Mad Men, Rome, House of Cards (both versions),
Modern Family (one of the funniest, most adorably realistic sitcoms
ever), Carnivale (so disappointed they didn't get to finish the
full storyline), AbFab, Community (even though it is a shambling
zombie corpse of what it once was). Slings and Arrows is one of the
best TV shows ever, ever made.
I will eat pretty much anything. Not really into offal. You can be
vegetarian, that's cool, but no judgement if I eat meat (and no
judgement that you don't).
Movies, random sampling: Hunger Games, Pulp Fiction, LOTR, Dirty
Rotten Scoundrels, RED (and the second; I would watch Helen Mirren
read the phonebook for two hours).
Music: mainly stuff that goes thump, mainly mid 90s-early 00s.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Knives, fire, internet, beer, books, no pants.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
New stuff, lately. How you don't notice privilege growing up, and
then it starts slapping you in the face. And how weird that
Where my life is going, where I want it to go, where it's been.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably at home, probably smoking something, or hanging with my
neighbours, probably drinking something. Or faffing about on the
internet, maybe watching a movie. I value quiet time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I broke my arm falling out of bed.

You're awesome and interesting, you think I'm awesome and
interesting, and we might share some cross-awesomosity in some
fashion. And the age range above is more about who I'm likely to be
interested in the sex kind of arena. Possible friends come in all
ages and genders and such. No transphobia here, either.
Just because I've looked at your profile and not messaged you
doesn't mean I'm necessarily not interested; maybe I don't feel I
fit your criteria or something.
