My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I can write a "your resume should look like this" profile, but at the end of the day, when you get to know someone, you get to know someone. That takes time and is a better indicator of being a match than trying to find the perfect person that you're asking for online. I've learned to treat this as more of a real world thing- you meet and get to know someone and you continue on or cut your losses. With THAT being said, a few things:

Sapiosexual. There's nothing more attractive than intelligence and someone who is hardworking. I'm always looking to learn. There's nothing LESS attractive than selfishness! I donate my time among other things to the underserved, so someone who likes to give back to others would get along well with me.

When someone asks why I went to grad school:

If you're a smoker or indulge in any drug use save yourself and don't message me. Smoking kills.

Non-affectionate people need not apply.

I love to laugh and make others laugh and spend a lot of time seeing the humor in otherwise bland situations.

You gotta like dogs.

My least favorite pictures of you will be with your shirt off. My most favorite will be of you doing something active/athletic.

Please put the word "smart" in your message so that I know you read my profile :)

I'm sure you're great but Mount sinai is not near Connecticut! I know I know, I can hear hearts breaking across the sound.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
School, being a professor, and externing as a psychologist at a mental health center
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being funny, being silly, running, conversation, cleaning, online dating.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My eyes....
According to the messages I've gotten though, it's my smile :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: anything that's a page-turner. Recommend something and I promise to read it.

Music:I listen to music constantly. I'm obsessed with Pandora. I think that people being a match based off of taste in music is silly...

TV: guilty pleasure is real housewives, but I also like crime and badass shows like Scandal. I like dateline, 20/20, the killer speaks, animal planet- stuff that's really going on in our world.

Movies: Quirky indie love movies.

Food: eat as healthy as possible to offset my insane sweet tooth
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
New York City!
Nike sneakers
Family (Rodzina, teaghlach, mishpocheh)
Starbucks- this is a serious one
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why people don't know how to take "selfies" so that it doesn't look like they're taking a picture of themselves.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Sitting in traffic.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I spend all of my professional time speaking in medical/technical/Psychological/douchey terms. When I'm home I may speak in slang or broken English, just because it's more funner. If you get what I just did you're smart and appreciate humor.
