My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
California transplant now calling NYC my home. I'm versatile from my interests, to fashion sense and activities that I enjoy. I appreciate spontaneity and being present in the moment. I'm outgoing and love to make people laugh. My friends describe me as "animated", thoughtful and loyal. I enjoy a night out on the town in a dress and heels, but I am also up for a Sunday Fun Day, eating wings, and drinking beer with the guys. I have a solid group of close friends and a large extended family who I am close to and are all very important to me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I currently work in education. I try to find a good balance between building my career and enjoying life. I make sure to take advantage of my down time as much as possible (socializing with friends, exploring the city, theater/movies, karaoke, CrossFit or whatever opportunities come my way).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Staying calm, having a glass half full perspective, parallel parking (a skill I perfected in San Francisco), solving puzzles/problems (ask me about my camping trip where a friend deemed me the female McGyver), recalling random details, and dancing old school 90's hip hop moves.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My smile and that I look young for my age.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
The Alchemist, Game Change, Hunger Games, Interview with A Vampire series, World War Z, Where the Red Fern Grows (my favorite book as a child), etc. Since arriving in NYC, I've been able to read leisurely on the subway rather than being stuck in California traffic so I have my list of books to tackle. Any suggestions?

Some of my favorite shows: Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, How I Met Your Mother, Law and Order SVU, CSI, Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, Chopped, House of Cards, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Big Bang Theory, etc.

Movies: To name a few: 80's movies especially ones by John Hughes, Love Actually, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Goonies, ET, Pixar movies, etc.

Music moves me and reflects my mood. So if you were to look at my iTunes, it would be an eclectic mixture of songs - 80's, show tunes, hip hop (esp. early 90's), R&B, classical, some country, alternative and pop.

I love food and exploring new cuisines, but sometimes nothing beats good old comfort food. My favorites are Sushi, Thai, home cooked Filipino food, carne asada fries (from San Diego) and Italian food (esp. spaghetti with meat sauce).
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Not including the obvious answers of family, friends, etc. and in no particular order:

New York City
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Life and how to live it to the fullest, what my dog thinks about, what motivates people, politics/social justice...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
When I'm not out with my friends, I love curling up under the covers and watching a movie on Netflix (any suggestions?).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I named my dog after an ewok.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You're a mixture of a gentleman, a little edge/personal style and a child-at-heart. You enjoy living in the moment and looking at the brighter side of things and are open to see where things go.
