Why Dolce Vita Mia? The phrase is from my Italian heritage, my life
really is sweet. I have been very fortunate. I had a very
fulfilling teaching career. I got tremendous joy helping my
students reach their “ah ha” moments. When I retired, I had time to
pursue three interests: traveling, photography, dancing.
I’m physically active working out at a gym several times a week. I
enjoy Yoga and Pilates as well as weight training. Dancing is
another form of exercise I love especially to Latin music. My work
out with weights keeps me humming on the dance floor. Walking my
dog at the local parks keeps both of us fit and out in
I am a curious person by nature, and I love adventures. I have been
to many interesting places including Africa, parts of Europe and
South America. Most of my photography is of the places I’ve
visited. I can get lost looking through the viewfinder.
My first trip to Africa was a photo safari in Kenya and trekking
for gorillas in Rwanda. Visiting a Maasai village really changed my
life. I have never seen happier people who, still living in mud
huts, think their lives are rich and full. The trip made me realize
there was something missing in my life. When I returned home, I
made several changes that, I’m happy to say, made my life less
complicated and happier.
I love a good story, so conversations with someone gives me what I
love -- listening and asking lots of questions. Each day I try to
do something I’ve never done before.
My perception of an ideal relationship includes companionship,
warmth, humor, and unconditional love. Communicating verbally as
well as physically. I’ve learned that understanding, laughter and
communication keep a relationship alive. Listening is key. Being
single isn’t bad, but sharing life with someone special would make
it so much more fun.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm enjoying creating photographs from places I've traveled. I
rescued a Portuguese Water Dog last year who keeps me entertained
with something funny she does every day.
I’m really good at
Listening, cuddling, being open to new adventures. My photography
isn't too shabby either.
The first things people usually notice about me
My friendly smile and manner that puts people at ease.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read a lot of books and see a lot of movies, especially indies,
each year. Some of my favorite books are: The 13th Tale, The Kite
Runner, and The Historian. Most recent movies: The Girl with the
Dragon Tattoo, Winter's Bone, and The Artist. Any live stage show
gets my vote. I love very flavorful food, especially Mediterrian
The six things I could never do without
My dog, my camera, my health, my garden, my friends, sense of self
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Is there a "mister right" out there for me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out dancing Salsa, or I'm watching an indie movie while enjoying
popcorn and a glass of red wine.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
One of the reasons I like photography is that I'm behind the
camera. I really don't like having my picture taken. Most of these
pictures are self portraits that I took for a workshop.
You should message me if
You'd like to meet a petite, fun-loving woman who just might be the
person you're looking for.
