My name's Dom, I'm 23 years old and graduated Uni in Japanese Studies and English literature last year. I've just moved to Tokyo!!!! Where I'll be, surprise surprise lol, teaching English.

I like reading Modernist and contemporary internetty literature and that good bleak Japanese shit #THATSwhatsup.

In London I DJed on pirate (lol I mean "community") radio and helped run a club night. I'm involved with a couple of nights out here around Shibuya, Koenji, Kichijoji etc. The scene's a lot smaller here but everyone seems very cool.

I love UK Garage, Funky, Jackin, Grime, and I love music geekism, and I love dancing like a mad eejat.

I'm into revolutionary socialism, feminism, occupying stuff, and checking my privilege and I'm not into sexism, racism or homophobia #allthatbullshit. But then I'm also into not being a dickhead about things and ramming politics down people's throats when it's not called for, or being humorless or shite.

My screen name comes from the Japanese concept of 'Mono no Aware' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mono_no_aware which means 'the pathos of things', but really means loving the sad beauty of things passing/ throwing yourself into wilful existential crises. It's all about existential crises.

I like to think I'm very 侘び寂び but my friends say I'm a ただのてへぺろ :(

I have had exactly 8 weekends in Tokyo so far and they've all been really good! Mostly DJing, going to friends' events, smashing it up at an izakaya somewhere and mashing down Ramen or Makudo at 8 in the morning.

Planning lots of trips to the beach and mountains as summer heats up! Everything's peak, basically.
