My self-summary
I moved to New Orleans in the past year by way of Memphis. I'm still exploring.

I love this stuff: music, art, nature, film, acting, whiskey, dirt bikes, dogs, swimming in lakes, camping, hiking, fishing, canoeing, chess, coffee, grilling, discussing politics, religion and philosophy, museums, coffee shops, hotel rooms, record stores, riding bikes, Gardening, graveyards, ghosts, crossword puzzles, recording music, taking walks, front porches, Bonfires, acoustic guitars, used book stores, road trips, lyric sheets, working with my hands, cooking, sleeping on floors, adventures.
What I’m doing with my life
I write and direct independent films. I've been an actor since I was a kid. I spent 20 years playing music, put out a bunch of records and toured all over the U.S., Canada and Europe, but now I only play acoustic guitar at home.
During the day I do home repair, remodeling and renovation.
I’m really good at

The six things I could never do without
Friends, nature, health, freedom, purpose and a creative outlet.
I judge people on this question. If you list a bunch of material possessions we probably wouldn't get along.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My purpose and destiny. The duality of humans. Whether or not god exists. Songs, movies and stories I want to write.

Why so many women on this site list Chapstick as one of the 6 things they couldn't live without. Do everyone's lips really get chapped that often? Mine don't. My lips are always soft and appropriately moist.

"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?" – Epicurus

“I know my friends not by their physical appearance but by their spirit. Consequently death does not seperate me from my loved ones. At any moment I can bring them around me to cheer my lonliness. Therefore, to me, there is no such thing as death in the sense that life has ceased...the inner or 'mystic' sense, if you will, gives me vision of the unseen...Here in the midst of everyday air, I sense the rush of ethereal rains. I am concious of the splendor that binds all things of earth to all things of heaven. Immured by silence and darkness, I possess the light which shall give me vision a thousandfold when death sets me free.” -Helen Keller

The heights by great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight, but they while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night.- Longfellow

"How could there be any question of aquiring or possessing, when the one thing needful for a man is to BECOME- to BE at last, and to die in the fullness of his being- Antoine de Saint-Euxpery

You're a real person: thoughtful, mature, introspective, creative, spiritual, adventurous with a sense of purpose and destiny. If you're not afraid to get dirty. If you're rough around the edges. If you know exactly what you want out of life and nothing will stop you from getting it.
