My self-summary
I came to the city almost a year ago for my career, and that's the biggest focus in my life right now. That being said, I don't take myself overly seriously. I like what I like and I'm never ashamed of that, because why should anyone be embarrassed about who they are? I like all the cliché things to do in New York as much as any other person, exploring, visiting museums, trying new foods, sleeping on the sidewalk, but what I'm really looking for is someone who can add a dimension to those things that I just can't get from my circle of friends.

I love having fun, so you know I'm not a troll. Film is a big part of who I am too! I'll see anything at least once. My career is also very important to me, and I love it so much that it also holds place as my biggest hobby. I absolutely love what I do, and ideally I'd like to find someone who feels the same way about their life. I read mostly non-fiction because I can't get enough of that moment where I read something really incredible and just have to put the book down and let out stupendous "Wow..." I'm perfectly content with conversation being either light, or super cereal, but it's very important that my co-speaker be as open minded as I try to keep myself.

There are lots of things I would like to do more of, that an ideal partner would help me explore, such as traveling, learning to cook (I can share some things here as well), getting back into nature more often (used to do a LOT of hiking and camping, but life got in the way), and the occasional guilty-pleasure tourist attraction. Most importantly I'm just looking for a girl who's happy with her life, and has something to teach me.

My biggest interests include animation, film, cooking, learning to live a healthier lifestyle, walks through the city on a nice day, and reading/learning everything I can about space and the universe. I'm a big film buff, all genres, any language, I'll give it a chance. I'm not overly skilled in cooking, but I love to try and am working to learn and improve! My idea of a great date or night in is cooking together and telling stories. I'm really inspired, both artistically, and as a human being, by everything I read and watch about the nature of the universe and astrophysics. I love sharing what I learn with people.

I'm really looking for someone who is happy with their choices in life. A person who gives off a great, positive aura, who smiles and will turn off her phone on our first date. Ideally someone who loves their life so much that they want to share it with someone.
What I’m doing with my life
I work in 3D animation as a model builder and sculptor.
I’m really good at
Pushing buttons on a computer to make pretty pictures come out.

There might be a little more to it than that.

I can also pitch a tent, bowl a strike, grill anything, suit up, make coffee, introduce you to a dozen movies you'll love, build a computer, drive stick, change my oil, and drive safely (and efficiently) through Manhattan.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I prefer reading non fiction. I really get irritated when I invest the time to read a story and I don't love it. On my last trip to Strand I bought 3 books on space.

Movies. Oh boy...

Alright let's do this. Star Wars, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Iron Giant, Speed Racer, The Other Guys, How to Train Your Dragon, Kyng Fu Panda, Star Trek, everything with The Muppets in it, The Blues Brothers, Jurassic Park, Kindergarten Cop, Commando, Predetor, Terminator 2, The Last Action Hero, Total Recall, The Running Man, True Lies, Jingle All The Way (are we seeing a trend yet?) all 3 Toy Stories, Pacific Rim, The Fifth Element, Super 8, and The Avengers. We'll stop there for now.

Food. Everything. Especially Seafood. Let's go to an Oyster bar for some half-shells and small talk.
The six things I could never do without
I'm having a hard time living without my dogs. Had to leave back home. Other than that, extended periods of time are made quite difficult without my computer or the Internet. Seeing the sun on a regular basis is pretty important too.
On a typical Friday night I am
Spending far too much time on the subway trying to make my way through the maze of construction that had started earlier than I thought it would. Public transportation... amirite?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm way more interesting in person. I really hate communicating via email/messages because I'm a conversationalist (is that a word?) so I really feed off the energy of a solid back and forth.

I rely way too much on spell check. More so because I'm a sloppy typist.
I’m looking for

  • Ages 22–28
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You have something you're passionate about, think it's cool that I might start a rock collection, have a dog I can play with, or want to go on a Ghostbusters pilgrimage through the city.
