have I by now been
glad of! And all that time
I’ve been trying to tell you
how with you was born
my truest life and most
desired, the better man
by your birth I am, however
fallen short. I’ll never
get it right by half.
Between us, by now, what
is more telling than the silence
in which once more an old
redbud simply blooms?
Do you still believe in love?
I would describe myself as: romantic, intelligent, witty, confident, curious, affectionate, honest, talkative, sensitive, playful, kind, gentle, understanding, a gentleman, a thinker, a lover not a fighter, a creative mind.
I love sports, both watching and participating. Golf is my favorite but I also like skiing and hiking and fitness and biking. I am interested to try sailing and surfing. I have been told that I look a lot younger than my age.
I enjoy travelling.
I love to dance, just for fun. I am a free spirit, not wild, but very much appreciate a life not dominated by structure and full of spontaneity and easy-going flow. I would describe myself as unconventional. I am passionate about spiritual things, not religious.
What sets me apart is a strong and creative intellect and a very expressive, sensitive and romantic personality.
I am looking for a partner who is secure in herself, intelligent, and has a good and kind heart. I will celebrate and encourage her. I am not intimidated by her strong character but appreciate her strengthand admire it. It takes strength to be vulnerable, which is one of the most important traits I seek in a partner, particularly as described by Brene Brown in her popular little video clip:
If this does not resonate with you and you are not interested in this type of journey to vulnerability, then I think we would ultimately not make a good match. Vulnerability is not perfection or weakness, it is the ability to accept your own imperfections and those in your partner and be open and genuine. It is not always easy, and at first uncomfortable, but I believe that is where real life happens and is a fantastic foundation on which to build a relationship. I am committed to it and live my life this way.
I have a great professional career but my work does not define me and I don't consider myself particularly ambitious. If high financial ambition is important to you in a partner I am probably not your man. I am motivated more by love and relational harmony than by money, beyond the need to take good care of myself and my loved ones and enjoying some of the simple pleasures of life.
I am looking for a woman who is right for me, and I will make understanding her a University and loving her a Sistene Chapel. I am looking for an amazing, romantic, growing, passionate, trusting and committed partnership that will stand the test of time. I have the skills, heart and intelligence to make this happen...are you up for it? I can't wait to meet you!
It is a cynical world. Do you still believe in love?
