My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm gradually shortening this.
I am an active, educated, fun... I cycle, exercise, run, hike, kayak-- whatever, is outdoors, I probably like it. Friends and family? Sure, why not, I like them. I even like my ex wife, she's a good person and a good mom and we talk frequently and sit together at our son's events. I really strive to be accepting of everyone and make peace whenever possible.
I have great job that I love. I work from home and travel when I need to-- all over the country--warm climates when its terrible here, its a very good setup:)
I also enjoy art and music-- both dabbling and experiencing. I take piano lessons, I can sing, I used to draw quite a bit, not as much now. I really want to become a better musician and have been working diligently..little bit of a late start. I love to learn new things--just started doing hot yoga--what an improvement that was.
I am a dad--two teenage sons, 16 & 18--they are brainy, athletic and hilarious. It's a nearly full life! How the heck did I get so lucky?? And now I have the gall to want even more... I would like to find a like minded woman, intelligent, funny, beautiful of course, that takes good care of herself, values togetherness, can communicate, likes to stay active and keep life interesting.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am always trying to educate myself and grow as a person. I have a fulfilling job and I think it's important to simply turn off the TV most of the time and find something worthwhile to do. I am still in the process of getting my sons educated and ready to face the world on their own. Exciting times! as every stage of life is.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
So many things that I'm "pretty good" at. Okay, things I will usually win at--Pool and Scrabble- I'm also competent with power tools and home improvement stuff (isn't that supposed to be a turn on?) Just put in a new toilet and it is so sweet!! Good at my job, good at being a dad.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm usually willing to chat with just about anyone--inherited from my mother.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books( a few): Latest--George Saunders short favorite of the moment. Motherless Brooklyn, Tin Drum, Book Thief, Joseph Conrad, Just read: The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving (funny, heartwarming) and started: Why the World Exists (mindbending)--I read a fair amount, especially when I travel.
Movies: Dark comedies, Romantic comedies (if done well) good documentaries, great foreign films, blockbusters--typically not as much, but things like Lincoln, Lord of the Rings were pretty special. No Adam Sandler (I'm serious)
Music: Old blues, classic rock (on vinyl--we have the old school stereo), jazz, classical, most things my kids even exposed me to some rap and hip hop and it was actually tolerable--FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES!
I love Asian food, Seafood, lots of different kinds of food. I like whole organic foods-- On a daily basis I go to PCC and spend way too much at their deli.--but yes, I will eat a hamburger or pizza.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My two sons (that counts as two)
Their mom--So I don't have to have them all the time
Art, music, literature.
My good friends
Sunshine and seashores
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I guess this changes at different stages. Right now, business is really growing so I spend a decent amount of time keeping that straight. I also have two wicked smart boys who are nearing college age and I want to make sure we are all prepared to send them to their next level of education and life beyond.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging with my sons, out with friends, out on a date, at home dancing with a mop...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That information is best saved for the second or third date (wink!)
