I am musical, well-meaning, and ridiculous.

My Self-Summary

Musical. Kinda sounds cliché, but it's true. Between myself and friends (cover that section later, woo), we got it covered. Actually....one of our main activities is walking down the street/in the park/around dorms singing various songs and musicals (The Lion King is a recent favorite). Adept at piano and drums, musical theory, and recognizing a song from the first second or two (within good reason) of it. I am one of those people who always has a soundtrack playing in their head and sometimes fingers, too--I have been known to play air drums and air piano. And I play anything from Vivaldi (soo hard, guh (that's what she said)) to Ben Folds (sometimes also hard, guh).

Well-meaning? I say this for the lack of a better adjective because it's more of an amalgam of personality aspects brought on from friends (yet again this is relevant, you'll find out) and from my upbringing. There's a couple parts to this one: the smiling, walking down the street person comes from the latter source. The rest of my quirky idiosyncrasies come from friends and various pop-culture references and in-jokes. Rest assured, I am well-meaning.

Ridiculous? Like the back of yo head? Yes. Those friends from earlier are where I get most of my humor and a good deal of shallow personality elements. We literally have an uncountable number of funny jokes and awesome traditions, some created with as mature as a 7th grade mindset (punch buggy included). But don't let this be intimidating. Mis amigos no juzgar (judge--spanish 3 all the way), and neither do I. I actually expect people to have bigger circles of peeps than I do and it is a very small world (another fun fact, I believe in coincidences and karma), so you never know. Sorry, kinda got off topic. :)

What I’m doing with my life

Well, I'm not fully sure, as the field of journalism tends to lead to jobs within the field that you don't expect, but I intend to do photojournalism. Don't be one of those douchebags that judge based on that stereotype of journalism--I'm not creepy or soulless or always asking incessant questions about details I really couldn't care less about. So yeah, that out of the way... My dream job, ideally, would be traveling photojournalist for National Geographic (and as it turns out, everyone in journalism has an ideal magazine/paper). It kinda stems from my mom being big on traveling (been to like 10 countries since I was little) and my love of flashing bright lights in peoples' faces while holding a camera. Currently freelancing (short for can't get an internship yet) to try and get a photography portfolio together.

I’m really good at

Piano, as aforementioned--at least as I see it. 13 years of playing and I can at least play the original version of Chopsticks.

Being lazy--this one comes natural. It's not that I love procrastinating or anything, but I just end up finding more important things to do than writing an essay (like cleaning out the dryer screen of lint and other equally fun tasks).

Photography. I think. I'm not so sure on this one, but that's because I have the least experience so far of these with pictures. Although I have done a wedding, and several peoples' senior photos, so I must be doing something right.

Nature and Traveling. Kinda seems lame at first, until you actually get to romp around some random country armed with only a cell phone (no reception, duh) and camera. I hiked up to the top of a mountain rainforest in Puerto Rico while my mom and sister sunned on the beach--and it was one of the most awesome experiences I've ever done. Not to hate on tanning, but I somehow am naturally tan, so I don't really worry about it so much (probably because I'm half Italian *shrug*). My friend and I 'own' parks, and benches, gazebos, trees, various swings, etc. in those parks, so I kind of know my way around a nature preserve.

Umm...being nice. I do go out of my way to be nice to people even when it's not the best of days. EVERYONE has shitty days.

Computer stuff. I can fix your wifi when we chill out at the library and I can get on but your laptop won't for some reason. Don't worry, I got this. But legit, I actually am pretty good at diagnostics and know my languages.

The first things people usually notice about me

In the daytime? My non-sparkly body and non-pale skin. (Props if you got the reference, I actually don't like the series, but w/e.)

But actually, my hair. Kinda funky, poofy brown hair. Have been mistaken for a woman from behind (lamee) but I have no intentions of cutting it really short anytime soon. It's not really long hair, but w/e. Many have tried to straighten it, none have survived.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Social behaviour, actually. It sounds kinda stupid, but I have a history with this. Moving between a sheltered elementary school (and state) to a much more open middle school (and a few states over) made me realize the heaviness of social ineptitude. You know, the awkwardness that trails some people that you try to avoid but are probably nice to anyway. They don't seem to 'get' the things that dictate norms, and not in the way that makes them unique and cool and makes you think. It's not really weird (at least to me anyway), but that's the kind of thing I realize while staring off at someone's forehead or a red piece of paper or something (also something I tend to do a lot, stare off).

On a typical Friday night I am

Kinda depends. I'm not anti-social, but not the club type. A lot of times I'll be hanging out with friends at someone's house playing pool or Sporcle-ing, but then if I'm chilling up here at UF I don't really have too many options, so chances are I'm at Gator Nights or something with friends up here. Or chilling on my computer in the union. You never know.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Hmm...I know how to use a banana? Potassium.

You should message me if

You....love to snuggle or cuddle more than dryer sheets or visors (friends' suggestions :D), or maybe you are just sitting there reading this. I'll respond either way.
