Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Recently moved to Seattle from DC. (I "did it for love" as they
say...and well, we know how that story ends) I was an east-coaster
for 12 years but the transition to the west coast is something that
I needed. (Though slow drivers in the left lane irritate me and at
any given time I am the fastest one on the highway) I am originally
from Texas and still miss it. I am still known to use the words
y'all and fixin and tend to air on the side of big hair.
I love the urban life and enjoy trolling around the city. My
favorite thing is to get up early and go for long walks while the
city is quiet. (Just me, the homeless people and the avid runners)
I am used to the hustle and bustle and can sleep through most alley
fights and police sirens. I like being able to walk to a bar (I
like my IPAs), a grocery store (as long as I do not need a gallon
of milk), a thrift shop (I love scoring unbelievable treasures) and
a 24 hour convenience store (hey, I like my convenience). That’s
not to say I don’t like rural life. I like to go on hikes, don’t
mind camping, love chilling on a dock at the lake and I am totally
capable of going days without a shower or makeup and know how to
eat cereal without milk.
I like to work hard but also play hard. My integrity and loyalty
are very important to me. I have surrounded myself with wonderful,
lifelong friends. I can be neurotic about some things: punctuality
(I mean, I only go to the movies for the previews), my email Inbox
(if you got 100 email a day, you would be too) and closet
organization (have to be when one owns 60+ pairs for shoes). I can
hang with the boys (I probably cuss too much) but can also be quite
girly (steady hair and pedicure appointments). I am known for
laughing…mostly at myself. (The older I get the more and louder I
laugh) I can be quite a klutz; I have a couple of war wounds from
my equilibrium problems. I was once told that I have 'biting
sarcasm' and I took it as a compliment. I suppose I will also admit
to being somewhat sassy and slightly bossy.
I like paint by numbers (I have the right amount of OCD for it),
people watching (from a bright sunny patio), day drinking (on that
same bright sunny patio), going to baseball games (I miss my
Nationals), checking out live music and awesome venues, a good
Irish bar, board/card games (I have been playing UNO for many
years, friends), museums (I am a history junkie), driving my Jeep
(fast), BBQ anything, fishing (I do know how to put a worm on the
hook and everything), traveling (anywhere and everywhere!) and boys
with beards, baseball hats and tattoos (I mean come on, that is why
I am on this site).
I am looking for someone to challenge me mentally and physically. I
want to find a co-explorer and adventurer. There is so much I want
to learn and experience so let’s do it together! I need someone I
can trust….super important to me and honesty will get you a long
way in my book. I like responsible people but don't need someone so
serious. I usually pass on the ‘class clown’ types and prefer quick
wit and an endearing personality. I firmly believe in mutual
respect and understanding; I am not perfect and I need my guy to
realize he isn’t perfect either. (Well, unless you are Ed Norton…I
am pretty sure he is perfect) I love my family and they are a part
of my life and prefer someone to enjoy those moments with me. And I
totally don't mind dating someone with kids but you can't write me
off simply because I don't have any of my own.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Living large and enoying it! I am happy with where I'm at in my
life and but I am also in constant search for the next challenge
and adventure. I swirl around in the government contracting world.
I work for a good company and with some great people....
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Noting the obvious and being slightly sarcastic about it.
Driving my badass Jeep. I WILL run you over.
People watching with quippy commentary.
Making pop culture references in my conversations.
Not going to bed early; I am a night owl.
Getting sunburns...my freckles love it.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have been told that it is my smile and eyes. But I like to think
it is also my humor and intelligence. I can be kinda shy when
people first meet me (though my friends would argue this
description of myself) but you would probably never know it.

I feel like this section is better served in good conversation (and
can be a long list of things) but here is a summary:
TV: Vikings (hubba hubba hubba), Six Feet Under (I love you, Nate
Fisher), Happy Endings, Boss, Californication, Girls, East Bound
& Down, Boardwalk Empire, Hannibal and anything on the History
Movies: Shawshank Redemption, Fight Club, Rocky (and God forbid if
I hit a marathon running on TV), Casino, The Hangover, Breakfast
Club (it's my era), uh, and anything with Ryan Gosling.
Music: Keane, Snow Patrol, Gotye, Depeche Mode, Death Cab, KoL,
Katy Perry (yeah, sorry, you will just have to suck it up), Linkin
Park, Muse, Phoenix, some rap and never country!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Diet coke, android, sunshine, lip gloss, music and my DVR. And
let's be honest, I can totally do without these things but just
prefer not to!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
...how to empty my head of the 1,000 thoughts that are swirling
around in it.
...if Ancient Aliens really existed.
...how I learned to type without a single typing class.
...and oh yeah, world hunger, poverty and the health of the Nation
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I don't have a go-to Friday night. I could be at a chick flick with
my sister. I could be sitting at the bar at my local. I could be on
a weekend trip to the beach. I could be on the couch watching the
History channel. I could be trolling the popular city spots with my
girlfriends. Or sometimes, I just sleep...
