My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm enigmatic gentlemen. I am mostly progressive, yet appreciate some traditions. I am idealistic and intellectual, but appreciate people who know how to relax and have a good time.

I'm also queer and polyamorous with a pinch of relationship anarchist. I'm looking for friendships, dating, and seeing where things naturally go with time.

I have a primary partner. She is currently in the DFW area with some awesome poly folk. If you are out there and poly/curious you probably should meet them. closerandwarmer Eventually I'd like to have other primaries, but I don't like to put relationships in a box, so I prefer to take things slow and get to know people before labeling anything.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Finishing the last year of a doctorate in behavioral science and working for a consultancy. For fun I play music, write stories, dance, participate in yoga, and seek out new experiences.

I also long to return to ex-pat life.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Real-time Strategy Games and other geeky things.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
In fiction I lean towards stories that are dystopian, post-apocalyptic, darkly humorous, sardonic, and, more recently, science fiction. Occasionally I scratch a fantasy itch as well. Huxley, Orwell, Rand, Asimov, Card, Burgess, Vonnegut, Martin, and Tolkien are some of my favorite storytellers.

In film I veer towards suspense and/or cognitive as well as witty humor. Inception, Godfather 1 & 2, and Shawshank Redemption are a few examples of the latter. 10 Things I Hate About You, Monty Python, American Pie 1 & 2 (believe it or not there is a lot of subtle wit buried under the crass humor these are known for).

TV shows that explore deeper relationships in social constructs than you can in film tend to catch my attention. I love Game of Thrones (the show is the best adaptation from book that a fanboy/girl could hope for), House of Cards, Breaking Bad, The Wire, Firefly, and Sopranos. Occasionally I am drawn to cleverly comedic shows such as House of Lies and Archer.

Music is my first love. Some of my favorite artists are Brand New, Everclear, Dave Matthews Band, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nails, AWOLNation, Lana del Ray, and Die Antewoord. Recently I have been seeking out various electronic music in styles such as psychill, psytrance, goatrance, and progressive house. That being said, I have diverse sonic interests and I am always opened to be challenged by new material, regardless of the genre.

I enjoy trying new food more than anything. At present I know I enjoy Japanese, Malaysian, Indian, Thai (desperate to find a place in Columbus that has half-decent curry), German, Italian, and French. Additionally, I love Mexican and New Mexican cuisine. These are my comfort foods that remind me of home.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I. Mindfulness.
II. Crafting stories.
III. Creating music.
IV. Exotic experiences.
V. Enticing photography.
VI. Engaging conversation.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Which rules make sense, and which rules should be broken.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Participating in one of the seven things I couldn't live without.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
will depend on how much I trust you. That being said, I like the spirit of this question so I'll share some adapted quotes:

"That which doesn't kill you can make you stronger."
-Neitzsche
"A little party never killed nobody."
-Fergie
"Inspire the change you wish to see in the world."
-Adaptation of Ghandi

Also: I ride the line between art and science.
