My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Well, long story short, I'm 28 yrs old and from Pembroke, Maine. I am a fun person once you know me, and like to talk to new people whenever I can. I'm roughly 5'6", a few extra pounds, hazel eyes, short light-brown hair.

Give me a chance and you may see my good qualities of friendship. I'm loyal, trustworthy, a decent man, and I actually care about whatever you want to talk about.

I do not brush people aside for not matching up to a bunch of BS expectations. I will talk with you, be there for you, care about you, and never abandon you.

Oh, and this should be said as well... just because I identify as a Christian, it does not mean that I'm going to tell you your lifestyle is wrong or that you're going to hell or something... Give me a shot, and you will see that I am nothing like that at all. I have a very big heart.

I'm worth the while... and you are, too. :)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
My mission in life is to go where I'm meant to be, do what it is I'm meant to do... Maybe I could go it a la David Banner from the TV series "The Incredible Hulk" and wander from place to place and help people. :-) lol

I've lived in Maine most of my life and I want to go to whole new places, take part in new things, meet people, and forge a new destiny for myself.

Meantime, I write fiction in the hope that it might go somewhere as I try to get my work published. I wrote my first full-length screenplay in 2010! ^_^ No "first act of three" this time. :-D Also interested in library sciences.

I landed a good starting job with a local newspaper in 2011. I'm always doing what I love: writing! Every assignment is another new adventure, and I must admit that writing "people pieces" means a lot more to me than official business news of the town.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Filmmaking. Me and a camera, plus enough actors, I can make a good short film. :-) I appreciate the art behind editing film footage and making something engaging.

I'm very good with kids. They just seem to like me very naturally and it's not exactly the worst feeling in the world being a kid's hero.

I'm good at listening to people if they need an ear. It's not easy going things alone, and I can't go deaf on someone if they need help.

Reading and writing... must have them. :-)

I am a fair-to-decent cook. Need some good stir fry? I'm your man! :-D

I'm good at movie trivia, hero mythology, comics lore, and D&D! :-D Need an Elf Cleric? *points at self* ;-) These things though, while a big part of my interests, are not all I care about. Let me put it this way: for reasons of my own I am not fond of the Twilight series... but would I ask you to never partake in it again? Nah... :-)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm told it's either my eyes or my hands. They probably also notice I'm a bit shy.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Harry Potter series, Vampire chronicles, LOTR series, King Rat, James Bond series, The Hobbit, The Homecoming, The Killer Angels, Dracula, Frankenstein, most of Stephen King's earlier works (which were not simply horror stories, I posit to you!), The Chronicles of Prydain series, Lonesome Dove series, and numerous graphic novels (hopefully you know I don't mean "graphic" as in the average Harlequin Romance.. ;-) ).

Movies: Tooooo many! But I probably ought to list them anyways: Howard the Duck, Jaws, all Star Trek films, Star Wars (original trilogy), Count of Monte Cristo, Indiana Jones 1-3, The Godfather trilogy, Back to the Future trilogy, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Muppet films, Arthur (the original, thank you), The Karate Kid (parts 1 and 2), Rush Hour (1 and 2), Shanghai Noon, Shanghai Knights, Willow, Serenity, Dracula (Coppola's version), Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, Lethal Weapon series, Superman: The Movie, Batman, Batman Returns, American Beauty, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Watchmen, Spider-Man (1 and 2), Edward Scissorhands, Die Hard, Pulp Fiction, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, X-Men (1 and 2), The Punisher (2004 version), Punisher: Warzone, Subspecies, The Lost Boys, Hellraiser, Fright Night, Silver Bullet, Salem's Lot, Carrie, Friday the 13th series, A Nightmare on Elm Street series, Halloween series, Evil Dead (1 and 2), Army of Darkness, Beavis and Butt-Head Do America, Ghost, Excalibur, LadyHawke, The Neverending Story (1 and 2), Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, Dodgeball, Office Space, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Shrek (1 and 2), Stand By Me, Biloxi Blues, WarGames, Ferris Beuller's Day Off, Cloverfield, The DaVinci Code, The Pursuit of Happyness, I Am Legend, Daredevil, Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison, Legend, Sleeping Beauty, The Emperor's New Groove, Gymkata, Rocky (1-3), Rocky Balboa, First Blood, Rambo: First Blood Part II, Rambo III, the James Bond film series, The Black Cauldron, The Addams Family, Addams Family Values, Gold Rush, Road to Morocco, It's A Wonderful Life, Phantom of the Opera, Team America: World Police, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey, The Shawshank Redemption, the Blade trilogy, Van Wilder, Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, Kick-Ass, Enemy Mine, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man (1 and 2), Thor, Sorority Boys, and the list goes on.... ;-)

TV: BlackAdder, Monty Python, The Tribe, Monk, Smallville, Quantum Leap, The Waltons, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Justice League, The Office, Firefly, The Big Bang Theory, The Incredible Hulk, Star Trek, Family Matters.

Music: All except country and gangsta... doesn't grab me. I am especially fond of film scores... the music behind the movies. :-) Not all movies, but memorable ones like Flight of the Navigator, Superman, Karate Kid II, Star Wars, etc.

I don't listen to a lot of today's music because I think it's all kinda the same... and that's not a good thing. lol

I like oldies, 80's, 90's, some early 2000's stuff... one Eminem song, Dropkick Murphey's, one Michael Bolton song, romantic music, etc.

Foods: Why, so you can poison me!? Huh!?! I love traditional things like a sandwich, burger, hot dog, pizza, but I loooove Chinese food and my home-cooked stir-fry. I am very good at cooking. I learned how to marinade/cook a delicious chicken or steak dinner. I loooove a nice chicken caeser salad! Japanese grill restaurants, as I came to know in the summer of '12, are AMAZING! Great food and a decent show of it... kinda pleasant. ;-)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Interaction
2. Water
3. Music
4. Books
5. Movies
6. Red wine
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Stories, new projects, life...

I'd like to know why Wile E. Coyote spent millions of dollars trying to catch the Road-Runner when he could have bought out an entire restaurant and had a darn meal like normal folk do? Seriously... doesn't this bother anyone else? ;-)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Likely out with a few friends at this nice local "downeast Maine" bar. Feels great to just catch up with them over a few drinks and some honey bbq wings. :-D

But there are Fridays where I might like to stay in... If so, I'm likely surfing the net, reading, watching movies, cleaning house, or working on articles or news column info for the paper I work at.

One thing I love doing sometimes is a stay-at-home "dinner & a movie" evening. Go get some Chinese takeout, bring it home, get all cozy and enjoy my meal with a good movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I will, on occasion, let loose and sing and dance to the "I Got a Jar of Dirt!" song/mix starring Johnny Depp..... with no shame, either. Doesn't matter who is present. :-P Haha!

you like! :) If you want a friend, I'm worth the while. ;-)

Seriously... I absolutely *dare* you to write to me :-P I don't know if this site says I respond often or not, but I will. I think it's truly kind for you to email me, a total stranger, because you're willing to take a chance... why *wouldn't* I write back? :-)

But write back if:

you share any interests of mine.
you like real conversation.
you just want to take a chance. :-)

Oh, and if you can tell me "who shot first"... :-P lol
