I have two partners, my darling husband Selenite and my beloved FordPrfct. We have several children.

I like to meeting interesting intelligent people with lots in common to talk to. But really, I don't see this much as a way to find someone to date. I have to get to know people first, plus I'm fairly busy. So this is just a possible way to meet people. Friends first, that's just the way I work, I'm storgic.

Y'know, I've seen cases recently of people who will go on in profiles about how great they are at X, Y, and Z. And sometimes those turn out to be just the places they aren't. So forget that. Instead - my great weaknesses are curiosity, impatience at waiting, chronically feeling short of attention, self-consciousness, and chocolate.

I have a competitive streak. I'm often insecure and moody. I throw myself into what I care about. I'm sentimental, a hopeful romantic, and symbolic things have great importance to me. I'm loving and I pay attention.

I used to do tech support, but now I'm home with children. Doing a good job with them is important to me. I'm a fiber artist and do all kinds of projets, knitting, spinning, weaving, etc. - honestly, that's mostly on hold these days. I play online in World of Warcraft.

I sing filk music, and am trying to learn more music and learning to sing better. I want to get more music in my life - I'd like to get back to the harp lessons that went on hold when my daughter was born, and learn to play the piano.

I read a LOT. Now and then I've been going on mini-research binges on whatever subject strikes my fancy. I also read a lot of SF, and make it to SF cons when I can, I enjoy them very much.

At the moment I'm pretty preoccupied by kids, especially our busy youngest, and playing with our World of Warcraft guild. I'm being a homebody and liking being here.

Reading, pattern recognition, fiber arts - knitting and more. Taking care of people, remembering, paying attention. Giving love and affection. I bake my own bread now and then, and just started making jam.

Either the book in my hands or the small knitting project I'm working on, seems to be what people usually notice!

Books - oh, we could go for hours. Favorite author is Bujold. I like Heinlein, Sayers, Heyer, and SO many more. Talk to me about books, it's a household of fervent readers.

Favorite movie right now - Serenity! A couple of my all time favorites - Dead Again, Shop Around The Corner, The Princess Bride. I don't watch tv, but with the wonder of DVDs I'm a fan of Babylon 5, Firefly, Dr. Who, am finally getting to see Buffy, and have recently been hooked on House and on Heroes.

Music - I like a lot of music. NOT rap. I enjoy filk, which most people won't even recognize - the folk music of science fiction fans, as it were. I don't listen to music as much as I'd like to these days. I can enjoy classical, rock, some pop, some country, celtic music, and recently started discovering bluegrass.

Foods - chocolate! I love good foods but I'm not terribly adventuresome. I've tended to stick with American and some Americanized Italian. I've been experimenting more recently, going to Chinese buffets and such, and it's been fun mostly. I'm especially willing to experiment for people I love. FordPrfct is teaching me to eat Mexican, and has me hooked on queso with poblanos.
