I've decided to completely revamp my summary and make it short and sweet. (Well, short compared to what it used to be.) Here we go!

Hi, fellow OkCupiders! I'm Sami. I moved to Florida in 2010, and I miss my friends like crazy! So, I propose that it's time for me to meet some rad people in the sunshine state.

Here's a little bit about me:

I love, love, love music. I play guitar and sing. (Hello jam sessions, if you're a musician too!)
I listen to a little of everything: Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj. Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, Acceptance. The Used, Silverstein, My Chemical Romance. The Ataris, MxPx, New Found Glory. Rilo Kiley, Eisley, Tegan and Sara. (This is a very broad overview.)
I'm Puerto Rican which means: I am super family oriented; Spanish food, music, and culture are amazing to me.
I like to watch scary movies. And Big Bang Theory. And Giants games. (Originally a New Yorker; I bleed blue.)
I'm a sucker for musicals and anything acoustic.
Once I'm comfortable around you, I may or may not randomly burst out into song and hope you'll sing with me.

Let's play Rockband (even though I'm bad at it). Let's go explore really cool places. Let's drink Yuengling and bake cupcakes? Let's make memories that will last forever.

I'm enrolling in college at the moment. What the future holds, I couldn't tell you. But I plan to pursue music, if it's the last thing I do.

Books: I'm pretty fond of Ellen Hopkins. There are tons of books that I've read and loved. Ask, if you'd really like to know, what my favorite book is.

Movies: Musicals! The Phantom of the Opera, RENT, Chicago, Moulin Rouge, Across the Universe, and Once. But honestly, one of my favorite movies is Silent Hill. And I also really loved Stay Alive. I tend to love anything by Tim Burton and Martin Scorsese.

Music: The list for this is endless. My favorite band is The Used, and Sara Bareilles is my idol. My favorite composer is Danny Elfman. And I'm currently in love with Mumford and Sons.

Food: Having been raised in Brooklyn, NY, good Chinese food is always okay by me. And I'm partial to the belief that a bad day can be improved with a fantastic slice of Brooklyn's pizza.

I sometimes spend too much time thinking about where I want to be years from now. About the kind of person I want to be, the reputation I'd like to have, the lives I want to touch.

Most likely hanging out with my sisters. Like I said, I love my family. But I'm also occasionally spotted at Backbooth for 80s Night. It's pretty ballin'.

I have a pet fish named Dr. Sheldon Cooper. I call him Shelly.
