My self-summary
I'm a transplant from Baltimore, calling Seattle home for about 3 years, but I've lived in about 12 cities in as many years. I've done a fair bit of domestic and international travel and I love anything related to New Zealand. I run a busy hostel during the day and can usually be found at a local music show or sleepy dive bar with a friend or two in the evenings. I spend a fair amount of time exploring neighborhoods, my latest interests being Fremont and Ballard, and thrift shops looking for fancy things!
What I’m doing with my life
In my head, I'm saving the world by changing perceptions and breaking down cultural barriers one traveler at a time! In reality, I'm doing property management, HR, accounting, helping 20 somethings coordinate their lives, and laundry...a lot of laundry. I'm also teaching myself to play the ukelele, which my neighbors love!
I’m really good at
making banana bread and 90's pop culture trivia.
The first things people usually notice about me
whatever orange item of clothing I happen to be wearing.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: The World According to Garp, Running with Scissors, Everything is Illuminated, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Sex at Dawn, Where'd you go, Bernadette, Lord of the Rings, The Bean Trees, Harold and the Purple Crayon, The Giver, anything by Miranda July, and celebrity autobiographies.

Movies and TV: Orphan Black, Orange is the New Black, Firefly, Wonderfalls, Dead Like Me, 30 Rock, Being Human, Lord of the Rings, Amelie, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, Seeking a Friend at the End of the World, Wet Hot American Summer, Battlestar Galactica, HIMYM, What We Do in the Shadows, Eagle Vs. Shark, Outrageous Fortune, and er, Murder She Wrote. I love a good murder mystery and all the super heros.

Music: mid 90's alternative will always have my heart, but I've recently discovered awesome local talent in Smokey Brights, Fame Riot, Julia Massey and Mama Rags. Thunderpussy is my new favorite local band!
The six things I could never do without
1.) RJ's black licorice
2.) indoor plumbing
3.) wool socks
4.) tea-earl grey-hot
5.) my hologram portrait of a racoon
6.) duct tape
I spend a lot of time thinking about
if Star Trek: TNG was shown in classrooms and used as a learning tool, kids might grow up to be well adjusted, socially conscious and peaceful adults.

And leather pants.
On a typical Friday night I am
having a Manny's or two with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
As, a kid, I wanted to be adopted by Patrick Stewart. Or Bill Murray.
