I am thoughtful, introspective, and silly.
My Self-Summary
So, I just finished studying for and taking the bar exam in New
York. It was hellish, but it's over. Now I'm a happy camper, and I
am getting ready to move to the DC area on September 4th, at which
time I'll be starting a government attorney job. I'm really excited
for the move, and I'm looking forward to exploring DC.
I like good conversation, smart people, and chocolate. I also
really want a dog (but it doesn't look like I'll be able to get one
for a while).
Some things I'm interested in:
news,
politics,
journalism,
Star Trek,
cars,
airplanes,
airlines,
travel,
reading,
writing,
thinking,
debating.
What I’m doing with my life
Not entirely sure yet. I want to be happy. And I want to travel a
lot.
As far as my professional life goes, I'm about to start my first
real job in a new city. It's about 80% exciting and 20% scary.
I’m really good at
Writing. I think I can confidently say that I'm a good writer. And
I think I'm pretty good at making people laugh. Especially people
who like lame puns.
The first things people usually notice about me
People seem to like my eyes. They're blue. For some reason, eyes
are not usually something I consciously notice on other people. I
mean, I notice that they're there. I'd probably be freaked out if I
met someone who had no eyes. But I don't notice eye color or shape.
Those sorts of things. You know.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
In law school, it was hard to find time to read for fun. I know
some people who did it, but I'm convinced that they are either
addicted to stimulants or were bitten by some kind of spider as a
child that modified their physiology so they no longer need to
sleep. I'm hoping to read actual books again soon.
As far as movies, I think I have pretty varied tastes. A few of my
favorites are Catch Me If You Can, The Bourne Identity, Rushmore,
Airplane!, Wall-E, Donnie Darko, Get Real (one of the better gay
movies), V for Vendetta, Children of Men, and Batman Begins.
Music is great, but I don't listen to enough of it. I'm always
looking for new music to enjoy. Here's a representative sample:
Franz Ferdinand, Vampire Weekend, The Decemberists, OK Go, Justin
Timberlake, Chromeo, the B52s, and Coldplay.
Much to the chagrin of many people I know, I have very boring
tastes in food, and am somewhat picky. I don't like too much
flavoring or seasoning. I eat a lot of chicken, pasta, potatoes,
and eggs. I also really love cookies (usually with some kind of
chocolate in them). I don't like sushi (but I tend to like people
who like sushi).
The six things I could never do without
Cookies, friendship, Google, Wikipedia, weekend naps, the Krebs
cycle.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The world, the law, justice, other people's problems, my own
relatively petty problems.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hmm. Friday nights can vary. I usually prefer quiet nights at home
to raucous nights of crazy partying. I like board games, movies,
and other laid-back stuff. I'm definitely not a loner, but I prefer
hanging out with friends one-on-one, or in small groups.
I'm not much of a drinker, although there are a few things I
like.
I also suck at dancing. I had to be coerced into dancing at my own
Bar Mitzvah, and let me tell you, it was awkward.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I almost never cry...but for some reason, OnStar commercials make
me come close.
You should message me if
You think we'd get along, don't want to just hook up, and can carry
on a decent conversation.
