I am Open Minded, Good Natured, and Shy.

My Self-Summary

I'm a nerd. Just thought I would get that out there. I like things like geocaching and camping hiking, but for some reason, my friends still call me a nerd.

I'm kinda new to this whole cyber thing. I'm more at ease talking to people face to face, but even then, my friends would say I'm shy.

I like traveling. I like spontaneous road trips. Movies, books, games.

What I’m doing with my life

Currently I'm running a small business and doing all I can to keep it going. It's a lot of work, but well worth it.

The average age of my customers is probably between 17 and 23, so adult conversations are welcome. Bad day at work, tell me about it, I would be happy to listen.

I've been divorced since 1995, after a year and a half. Had one relationship since then that could be considered serious, but that didn't work out.

Right now, I'm hoping to meet new friends.

I’m really good at

I'm pretty good at remembering things-I think. I play some games pretty well, but others not so well. I make people laugh a lot, but I'm not sure if that's looks, or something I've said.

Did you ever get the feelilng you were really good at something, then someone else comes along and makes you feel like a beginner... Makes it a bit tough to say what you're really good at.

The first things people usually notice about me

My smile. (it was my eyes until I started wearing glasses.)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Mostly Sci-fi and Fantasy. Harry Potter Lord of the Rings Shannara

Movies: Just about anything, but not that into horror.
anime (I own most of the Hayao Miyazaki movies.)
Again, mostly sci-fi and fantasy. Firefly: Serenity, Transformers 1 & 2, Chronicles of Riddick, The Mummy 1 & 2 (even if 2 was a bit goofy) Lord of the Rings, Star Wars... but there are a few comedies... 50 First Dates, The Wedding Singer, Office Space... so many movies... so little space.

Music: Don't know much about music. Not crazy about Rap. Not big on death metal, but don't tell that to the guys from punishment overdue, they are at the store a lot. It's kind of like their hang out. Not real up on who sings what, but I know a song I like when I hear it. Jonathan Coulton is pretty funny. Re: eat your brains aka that zombie song.

I like spicy food. Itallian, Sushi! It's all good. Ok... some isn't quite as good.

The six things I could never do without

My friends. My dog. My memory. I forget what else.

Oh wait, swimming. Nature. (Although I don't do a lot of swimming au naturale.)

My cell phone. Which reminds me, where is it?

I spend a lot of time thinking about

My store. How to get more people interested in it. How to get more people in.

Lately, I've noticed that the more I have in common with someone from this site, the farther away they seem to be.
Anybody tell me what that is all about? Hey... it would give me a good excuse to make a spontaneous road trip. (See section 1, paragraph 3)

Please note: Australia is not considered a "road trip."

On a typical Friday night I am

At work. As the owner, I'm there pretty much every day until close. It's more of a hang out type of place than a retail store. Weekends are my busiest times.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I liked the movie "The Cutting Edge." Toe Pick!

I'll even give you a 2-fer... I own it!

You should message me if

you actually know who Hayao Miyazaki is. (There aren't a lot of us.)

you liked "The Cutting Edge." (See above reason.)

you know how to change the head gasket on a 1993 Subaru Legacy. (It's always good to know someone who knows that sort of thing.)

you have a "black lotus" card from MTG. Magic the Gathering

you have ever been known to "throw dice" in an RPG. (D&D)
