My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Appreciator of silliness, frivolity and whimsy; easygoing to a fault.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I make music, in my way. I have an electronic/computer set which I'm starting to gig. That is, I screw around with oscillators, filters, and so on, and try to assemble these sounds into something coherently musical. (I'm also trying to learn to sing and play guitar, but not up to much at either, yet.)

I also sometimes put on music nights around Bristol. Most fun recently was an 80s goth night I put on on Halloween, which was fun and went well and to which I might do a sequel. Now and then I also DJ my records out around town as "George All's-Well", which is tons of fun.

I help out at a volunteer-run venue/cinema called The Cube, which is a great place. It's a touch ramshackle and shambolic, but it embodies an admirable DIY spirit and hosts some of the best gigs in Bristol. I've also designed their monthly printed events programme a few times.

By day I write finance software.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Fearlessly climbing trees, Tetris, stews and vegetable curries of all kinds, not ending sentences with propositions, cuddling.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've been alternately told that I look like Bradford Cox and Brian Cox, both of which are actually fine by me. Other than that, people often quickly pick up on the fact that I have the same phone as their mum (typically followed closely by "does that have Snake?")
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I read a lot; a mixture of fiction and non-fiction. Some quick favourite writers: Borges, Orwell, Hofstadter. (Though my favourite books by the last two aren't the ones you'd think).

As for music, I like a lot of new wave/punk/post-punk bands (Talking Heads, the B-52s, Devo....) and smart glam (Roxy, Bowie, T-Rex, and most of all Brian Eno), plus various kinds of early synth and electronic things. Important loves not falling into any of the above categories: The Knife, Momus.

I don't really watch TV, but Chris Morris and Armando Iannucci definitely stand high in my list of all-time geniuses. Arrested Development was amazing, and I have a certain soft spot for Seinfeld. I also consume Attenborough DVDs with great relish.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Good records, good books, good clothes, good food - which is either fewer than six things or much more, depending on how you count.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Pop music, etymology, typefaces.
