I love to read and write, wandering around outside for no
particular reason, and enjoy videogames. I am possessed of a fairly
quick temper that I have learned to curb over the years, and as a
result of learning to tune it down I have a fair bit more patience
than most of my friends. Pretty easy going and laid back, provided
people don't try to preach their opinions at me, or argue inane
points just for fun. Pretty open and open-minded, out to live life
before I get wrapped up in someone else's idea of what I ought to
Oh, also, I suppose mentioning that I have a name would be helpful,
and/or poilte. It is Ryan.
I am Wrath, Pride, and Lust
What I’m doing with my life
Working 1000-1800 at Fort Meade, lifting things and sometimes also lowering them in a different place and sometimes fixing other things.
I’m really good at
Writing and reading, and I will read just about everything except
nonfiction. Most nonfiction I find terribly boring. I also enjoy
doing accents/voices, especially while intoxicated, although I have
been known to get stuck in an accent for hours at a time.
The first things people usually notice about me
I've been told I stare at people and occasionally unnerve them. Or
that I either appear surly or upset at first glance. I suppose
that's true, but that's just my neutral face.
My mind rolled into the gutter when I was 9, and my mouth followed
shortly thereafter. They do not plan on leaving anytime soon. They
like it there. It is cozy.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite books: Fantasy/Sci-Fi is what my eyeballs like. That being said, specific things: Anything by Tolkien, Stephen King, and Philip K. Dick, Robert Jordan, George R. R. Martin, Brandon Sanderson. Also a lot of dead authors: Poe, Thoreau, Lovecraft, and a few more that for some reason I can't name at the moment.
A friend turned me on to the Millenium series by Stieg Larsson, after telling me to watch "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," which I also did. They were pretty great.
EDIT: With the advent of electronic mobile book downloading devices, I have stumbled across an author I have not read in a while and whom I now love again: Oscar Wilde. I have a feeling I am going to read a lot of things I haven't thought of in a while, due to the fact that books on this thing are all kinds of cheap.
Favorite movies: Gladiator is one of my top movies. I'd list more specifically, but a friend of mine has described my taste in movies as "He likes everything and will probably watch any movie you can put on." I've tried to pretend that this is not the case. Turns out, this is pretty much the case.
Really I will probably listen to anything except country, because country has always just rubbed me the wrong way. Lately I've gotten into metal, and now anything related to metal, industrial, ambient or electronic is probably what is shooting out of my computer.
[There used to be a long list of things here. I decided in the interest of brevity that this list will no longer exist. Instead, try not to think of elephants.]
The X-Files (i could literally watch x-files episodes all day every day forever and never regret my life), Seinfeld, Lost, The Colbert Report, The Daily Show, 30 Rock, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Community, Futurama, Lie to Me, Brimstone, Arrested Development, and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Also most of the things on the Food and Travel channels.
The six things I could never do without
Pencil, paper, music, pillow, blanket and an intact brain to use.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
A whole mess of things. Pretty much anything and everything, mostly
by myself, while wandering around. Who I am, what I am, the general
purpose of life; I like to analyze why I do the things that I do,
and through that find out what I really am. Self-analysis has
always come easily to me. I also think probably just as much about
other people and why they are the way they are, why they do what
they do in the manner in which they choose to do it. I used to
think about politics, but not so much anymore.
I don't particularly give a shit about most drugs, as long as
people aren't shooting up in front of me, you can pretty much do
what you want without a lecture from me. Same with religion: as
long as you're not proselytizing all over the place, I don't
Also, robots. All of the robots.
On a typical Friday night I am
At a place doing a thing. Sometimes there are other humans present. Sometimes not.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am an English Lit major and I have never read 'Lord of the Flies.'
Also did I mention robots already I feel that robots are important.
You should message me if
You feel like it, or have an urgent message from the future about
how I will die and have come back to stop it from happening.
'twould be much appreciated if it is the latter.
