My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I think I can sum up this in one sentence.

I think to fully understand how to love me, you have to watch (and appreciate) Chuck.

When I was a kid, I watched a lot of Law and Order. Don't get me wrong, I also watched the heck out of TMNT, Darkwing Duck and so forth, but I always made time Jack McCoy, because even as a kid I knew I wanted to be that cool lawyer that always fought the good fight, and won within 48 minutes. I told myself I would be that one day. Or Batman, because he was rich, brooding and cool.

Well, I'm not a billionaire (sorry!) so I went to law school and found out that fighting for justice takes much longer than 48 minutes, but it's still worth it.

When I'm not righting wrongs, I'm either out with my friends exploring this great city, or making new ones. That comes easy to me, since I'm quick with a smile, and I never take myself too seriously. I'm always up for something new, be it winning my betta fish with friends in Coney Island, or trying to figure out why watching a movie in Bryant Park smells like a Phish concert. If nothing else, I hope to meet people with interesting things to share about this city. Any suggestions?

My favorite holiday is definitely Halloween, from the costumes to the candy and all its other trappings. It's my favorite time of year, when it's just starting to get cool out, and the leaves turn colors, and you just know Christmas in the city is around the corner. I might end up being that dad who dresses up with his kids when he takes them trick or treating. They might also grow out of that before I do.

A big reason I'm on this site stems from a recent project of mine. A little while ago I helped two friends of mine get together. They were both a little shy around the other, despite the obvious attraction between them, and they needed a nudge... or several nudges. Still, I wouldn't have done it if I hadn't realized that they each complemented the other, that as cool as they were each on their own, they could potentially be something more together. I realized I wanted that too. Anyone else feel that way?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm an attorney working in litigation. It's the only field of law that is like the ones you see on T.V., even though it is almost never like it is on T.V. Oh well, I have some great stories from when I was a prosecutor!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
This used to contain that I was good at taking care of my betta fish. My brother fishsat.... I'm really good at forgiving my brother!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm always smiling. Life's too short to wear anything else! Either that or my deep blue eyes. Sounds weird writing that.

Not an all-inclusive list, in fact many of my favorites might be missing. I'm bad at listing things. That's why this is not under "What I'm good at."

(A)Books: just a short collection of things I love to re-read.

1984 and others from that genre.

Neil Gaiman, both his published works and the excellent Sandman series.

I also have preformed in several Shakespeare works, and at one point or another read every play. I'm partial to King Lear, but it's probably just because I was Edmund in a production.

A Song of Ice and Fire :started and finished in two months. Worth every page.

(B) My all-time favorite movie is Nightmare Before Christmas. Some others include, but this is in no way an exhaustive list; American Beauty, Hudson Hawk, Batman, Serenity, Fight Club, Rudy, Chasing Amy, Clerks, Monty Python, Dark City, Amilie, Donnie Darko, Pan's Labyrinth, Dark Knight, Cohen Brothers (I was going to add True Grit and Big Leb, but then I though, heck, all the Cohen Brothers movies apply).

(C) Some of my favorite bands include Radiohead, Foo Fighters, The CureStone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, Metalica, They Might be Giants , Queens of the Stone Age, Regina Spektor, Tom Waits,Yoko Kanno, The Protomen, The Seatbelts, Arcade Fire, Florence and the Machine. Really, I love all types of music, provided they aren't manufactured, and instead sound raw and emotional. If you can feel the music, I will love it.

(D) I was raised by Italians, so I have a soft spot for pasta and pizza. I also looove Chinese, some types of sushi, and good ol' American Cuisine.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Music, especially at the gym. Nothing like when you are hitting a rough spell and a great song pumps you back up!

2. Something to read while I eat, or in its place some good company to share a conversation. Ever since college, I need stimuli to really enjoy a meal.

3. Interwebs

4. Movies, especially previews at the theaters... I love the previews more than the movies half the time. Something about the crowd, the expectation, the smell of stale popcorn...

5. Late spring or early fall weather.

6. Purpose, for without it, what are we?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Silly things, such as if I had a million dollars which bill would I pay off first, or which is better to settle down in, San Diego, NYC, or some warm, island paradise.

Sometimes I plan if the world was going to end, how I would survive the fallout. I don't think Twinkies are the answer.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Coming up with something clever to write here. Except last Friday... obviously.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I also tend to sing (or hum) with my MP3 player when walking down the street. Quietly. I'm not very good at singing, but oh well.

Oh, and I play video games with old college friends. Best way to catch up with them!
