My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I was a Navy kid, so I've lived up and down the coasts my entire life, This is where I've lived for probably 15 years now though.

I'm a nerdy guy with nerdy hobbies, none of them I take seriously at all.

I went to culinary school for 2 years, I have a few more classes left to finish my degree. I've learned a lot, from how to make the most delicious chocolate icing ever, to how to prepare and smoke my own pastrami and bacon.

When I was changing subjects in college I thought hard about what would be best. I thought about what ONE thing I really wanted to do if given the chance, and that was to see the world... I figured that cooking was something that I loved, and, given the skills, it was also something that I could do wherever I ended up.

I'm fairly outgoing with those who I'm close with, but I'm incredibly shy at first. I always have been and I'd love to try to fix that.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Right now I'm trying to find out what I really want to do, I love cooking but its not the right environment for a career. Science has always interested me but I feel it near impossible to pin point the specific path I'd take.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I love to cook so I'm fairly practiced at it, I especially love to bake cakes and other desserts.

Making people smile and laugh. I've been told by a few people that I'm the funniest person they know, even though I know I can be funny, I'm always happily surprised to hear that.
The first things people usually notice about me

Eyes and beard, and if I have a genuine smile on my face I hear that its quite handsome.

After a short encounter people probably would remember me for my horribly corny jokes, I love telling a bad joke as much as I love a good one.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Fantasy and sci-fi books are my favorites, currently the "Wheel of Time" series is #1

I always get weird looks around my guy friends when I mention a romantic comedy that I really liked, but I cant help it. In general though, the types of movies I enjoy are incredibly varied.
If I had to choose an all time favorite movie it would probably have to be "The Princess Bride".

Right now my favorite shows are
Game of Thrones
Walking Dead
Breaking Bad
Doctor Who

I'm a big fan of modern folk bands like
Mumford and Sons
Of Monsters and Men
Iron and Wine
Along with music like
The Shins
Sigur Ros
and Sufjan Stevens
I also love classical and acoustic music, I get lost in a good melody.
My favorite song is probably Iron and Wine's cover of Such Great Heights

There isn't much food I don't like, and no dish I wouldn't try. I have always had a weakness for the "generic" Mexican restaurants though.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Without the obvious friends, family, oxygen and water, some of my favorite things are
Chilly autumn days
Midnight thunderstorms
Bad puns
Lazy days
My beard, I just don't look right without it.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Anything really, I have a hard time settling my thoughts down.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At home talking with friends on Skype.
Playing games with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I still have the stuffed dolphin my brother made for me when I was young.
