My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Should I pitch this as though it were a marketing campaign, character witness or psychological assessment?

I'm incredibly lucky to have great (and tolerant) friends, a close family, and a reasonably functional body and mind. I'm sometimes driven, sometimes lazy; confident, but shockingly bad at small talk. There's no attachment between me and material things - I'd prefer to be fulfilled with what I'm doing and with whom. At the risk of straying into introspective nonsense...

As a Norfolkian, my moral outlook is tainted by the agarian hegemony of my locally reared forefathers; so give me a cycle ride to a tea room over a city break, a pint of Wherry with a handle over a vintage Rioja, and a game of Sunday league football over a jazz fusion gig.

Yet, as a product of too many years in education, I'll happily take as many museum trips, red wine and atonal double bass solos as one man can ingest.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Arrrgghhhhh, help... I'm attempting to finish off my PhD in physics without a great deal of success (somebody helpfully told me the other day that it's a good idea to actually write something down from time to time), imbueing underwater robots with intelligence, reading all the books I've bought before stepping foot in Foyles again.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Spilling coffee, making an average Sunday roast, playing the bass, getting enthusiastic, waffilng incoherently, navigating public transport, losing keys/phones/wallets/coats/cash, ranting, appropriately sized lists.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Stop waving your hands about, Baldy.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Sophie's World, Godel Escher Bach, newspapers, Private Eye, Back to the Future, Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (not sure that's actually true), This Is Spinal Tap, Only Connect, Wicked (yeah, I know), Meshuggah (and other metally things), anything that requires 11 listens to realise I haven't a clue what's going on .
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Apart from the obvious things - bread and butter, the ability to play music, fresh air, the news, bright people, the coast
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The future, people, numbers, tea breaks, current affairs, deadlines
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either at pub with mates or at home reading in front of the fire. Yep, that's dull, but typical.
