Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I live a full and rich life, looking for someone who may be
interested in sharing that life either for a fun dinner, show, or
out to a charity gala or the like, or more if there's a
I've worked hard over the years running a technology business for
the past couple decades employing (and keeping motivated) over 60
of the smartest consulants around. The hard work pays off in
providing me the financial freedom to play hard as well.
I do public speaking somewhere in the world every couple weeks,
something that I enjoy experiencing the culture, the foods, the
lifestyles of different counties and people, and the richness it
brings to the world.
I've enjoyed education my entire life formally studying everything
from politics to economics, applied mathematics to English
literature military strategy to Renaissance history. I volunteer my
time running a Bay Area university, teaching masters and doctoral
courses, supporting a space sciences museum, doing diplomatic work
for the US government. All of my volunteer works keeps my brain
going and keeps my fingers into the things that interest me outside
of my day to day career...
My life is further enriched by the opportunity of being a full time
single dad caring for my 2 kids 24x7 and the ability for me to
share int'l travel and all of my hobbies and interests with them!
Life is so much better when one can share life experiences with
others, and seeing my kids learn and experience news things is so
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm doing everything I can with my life, getting the most life
experiences as I can! It's a big world and life is short...
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
...finding ways to have fun!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
...and in this day and age still surprises me, but people say "you
don't sound or act Asian." Hmm... So my family has been in the US
since the 1890s, the only Japanese I know, I learned in college,
and even at that, I speak better French, Spanish, and Chinese than
I do Japanese....
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I enjoy everything from documentaries to romance to sci-fi in
books, movies, or TV (although I can't say I spend much time in
front of a television, and if you ask me questions about the latest
in soap operas or reality TV, I will lag behind in those
topics...). I love Broadway musicals and frequent the theaters of
New York and London on weekend getaways, and try to catch whatever
eventually makes its way to San Francisco... I listen to the latest
Top 40 in music and was a concert pianist as a kid as well as
played keyboards in a jazz band in Tahoe on weekends, so I find
music of all types relaxing and enjoyable (okay, well maybe most
music, I'll pass on polka and head banging acid rock...). Oh, and
foods, I love everything and anything, a variant of being able to
travel of having an opportunity to experience a little (and a lot)
of everything from every edge of the globe...
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
* email (yeah, my Achilles heel...)
* beachs (I love a warm beach and the sound of the ocean!)
* sushi (find me a good sushi bar, and I'm a happy guy!)
* keeping mentally stimulated (I enjoy learning new things and
keeping my mind active...)
* airplanes (it would be REALLY hard trying to traverse the globe
each week by foot...)
* downtime (as much as I enjoy being on the go, I also enjoy
curling up in front of a fireplace, walking barefoot on a beach, or
drinking a glass of wine at the side of a pool and relax...)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
...well, for the past hour, what to write and answer to all these
questions, whew, only a couple more to go!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Typical Friday night, really? Nothing is ever typical, the past
half dozen Friday nights have included:
* being on a plane to London with the kids for the weekend
* going to a birthday party for one of the kid's friends
* visiting family
* riding bicycles on the bike path and having ice cream
* attending a charity event
* sitting at a beach house watching the sunset over the ocean
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
...that answering this question is something that really needs to
be a private conversation...
