I am open, friendly, and curious.
My Self-Summary
I've created a profile here because I'm awesome. No really, it's
true. Sure, I've got some quirks, but for the right person I'm like
baby bear's porridge. Juuust right. I may not be the right guy for
you, but you'll never know until you read further. So here's a bit
about me.
I'm adaptable and I tend to go with the flow. I'm a low maintenance
guy who's all about happiness and contentment, but I'm also
interested in trying new things or going on random adventures. To
me, an adventure could be anything from finding a new interesting
place in town, getting lost on purpose (in the woods, on the roads,
whatever), or even watching a movie I'm pretty sure I won't like. I
smile a lot and tend to be an optimist. I am honest sometimes to a
fault, but on the flip side I'm trustworthy and am trusting unless
I'm given a reason not to.
I'm a pilot in the Air Force, and while I'm proud of what I do I
hesitate mentioning it because I don't want to be defined by it.
Still, it's a part of who I am and if it's going to come up
eventually, it may as well be now. I enjoy traveling both for work
and for pleasure, and don't mind moving around.
In my free time I like to play my drumset (sometimes with a band),
play video games(anything from Wii to Starcraft), and to hang out
in causal places so my friends and I can have a decent
conversation, or light hearted debate. I like swing and salsa
dancing, although I'm not very good at either. I like road trips
(even for no reason than the journey), going to the theater (wanna
see a play?), catching a local artist at a concert (know of any
good shows?), seeing movies (the new Warren is pretty sweet, but so
is the dollar theater), and catching the occasional Blazers game. I
apparently also enjoy over-using parenthesis (did you
notice?).
My sense of humor is one of the lame variety, and I still sometimes
think "Why was six afraid of seven?" is a good joke. If you think
that's amusing you should tell me one, or ask me my rope joke, it's
great.
While I would really dig finding a date, I'm just as open to
meeting new friends. If you don't mind a few odd questions and can
speak/type intelligently with some sort of grammatical accuracy I'd
bet we'll get along swimmingly. As for a date, I'm looking for
someone who can be comfortable with themselves, and someone I can
talk about anything with.
What I’m doing with my life
I fly planes, and have a pretty good time doing so. I have a
computer science degree, but haven't really done anything useful
with it since I graduated.
I’m really good at
Avoiding answering questions when I want to, and asking random
questions at random times. Though my memory fails me in many ways,
I'm pretty good at identifying movie quotes. I'm actually good at
remembering a lot of random facts, as long as they aren't too
important q-: I'm a pretty decent drummer, and I'm better than I
want to be at procrastination.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm told I have kind eyes and a cute smile.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: Most books by Stephen King (especially the Dark Tower
series), Angels and Demons was pretty good, Ender's Game (and
following series), 1984, Frank Herbert's Dune books, Candide by
Voltaire, anything by Dr. Seuss or Douglas Adams, The Death Gate
Cycle by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, The Count of Monte
Cristo, hummm... Mayhap I need to read more books.
Movies: Depends on my mood, I tend to see a lot of movies.
Anything from The Crow to Happy Gillmore, from Princess Bride to
The Shawshank Redemption.
Music: I'm not a fan of most country, but otherwise I have wide
and eclectic tastes. I like Smashing Pumpkins, Dr. Dre, Debussy's
Clair de Lune, George Thorogood, Benny Goodman, Coal Chamber, The
Beatles, Daler Mehndi, Aphex Twin, Tool, Weezer, The Cure, John
Williams, Jeff Buckley, Rasputina.... I dunno, that's a good start.
I love going to live shows and supporting local music.
Food: Not a huge fish fan, although I do enjoy shrimp. Anything
else I'm game. I really dig Italian. I like going out to eat at
nice places, but when I'm by myself I tend to either make a quick
ham sandwich at home or get fast food.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life in all it's mysteries. I'm told that at times I ask a lot of
questions and that I overthink things, but I think an examined life
is a more interesting one. I wonder how people make the connections
they do in their life, how people can see the same thing in a
different light. I try to see through others eyes, even if I don't
agree.
On a typical Friday night I am
Like most, I wouldn't say I have a 'typical' Friday. I've enjoyed
going out to grabing a pint with friends, cut a rug/ flailed around
looking silly at a club, and gone out or stayed in to watch movies.
I've played semi drunken pool/bowling, and I have just chilled on
the computer chatting with friends, getting lost in Wikipedia, and
playing games.
Last weekend I had band practice, watched a hockey game, went out
to a jazz bar with some friends, then came back to my place for
some video games. The next day I had band practice with another
band, watched a friend compete in a roller derby bout, and then
went to the after party to say hi. Nothing is typical, but that's
far from strange.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I like girls.
You should message me if
I intrigue you.
