My Self-Summary
I might actually just be on here to make some new friends, how lame is that? But I'm starting to realize how tough it is just to meet new people as i get over the hill here. So enjoy the following profile.
What I’m doing with my life
When I do focus on my writing, I tend to lean toward screenwriting or graphic novels/comics. I fall under the category of not so much enjoying the process of writing, but as someone once said: loving to have written.
My day job's is doing recruiting for a marketing company. I staff lots of jobs...all the time, and spend most of my days interview people. But It's a great day job, and probably the first I've ever enjoyed. So at least I got the whole paying rent thing knocked out now.
I’m really good at
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Braveheart, Gattaca, Fight Club, Lord of the Rings Batman Begins, Gladiator, Office Space, Anchorman, Memento, The Thin Red Line, Solaris, Unbreakable, Donnie Darko, Princess Mononoke, Star Wars, Dances With Wolves, Magnolia, Hamlet(Kenneth Branagh's) Back to the Future, 40 Year Old Virgin, Wedding Crashers etc.
My tv list was soo outdated....half of the shows i had listed here are now cancelled, that sucks. Either network tv doesn't respect great shows...or I've been on here waaay too long.
The Colbert Report, Lost, The Simpsons, old episodes of Gummi Bears
Music: My favorite band of all time is Toad the Wet Sprocket and the singer now solo Glen Phillips. I'm also really into: Dishwalla, Muse Better Than Ezra, Pete Yorn, Dashboard Confessional, The Shore, Keane, Oasis, Duncan Sheik, Longview, Damien Rice, The Cure, Pilate, Doves, Imogen Heap/Frou Frou, Jack's Mannequin, Music my parents brainwashed me with: Styx, YES, Journey, Asia, and even some electronic like: Ulrich Schnauss, Way Out West, and Hybrid. I'm also really into movie scores/soundtracks, and I get really into hunting down ones I cant find online or otherwise.
Books: I usually don't go for traditional novels, but I do like books on things like string theory, or politics. And I'm also into comics...but only really good ones...and if you just threw up in your mouth at my confession of that...just trust me, brilliant writers do them too.
The six things I could never do without
2) Laptop for writing.
3) The ability to listen to great music at a moments notice.
4) My daily dose of Stephen Colbert
5) Ok, this one is kinda sad, but Orbit Bubblemint gum. It's my cure-all for any ailment, and almost always in my pocket.
6) Long showers, where most of my thinking gets done.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How I'll fare in hand-to-hand combat with Zombies
On a typical Friday night I am
This is aside from the usual friday night shenanigans.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
-Batman is my idol.
-I like candles more than any guy should.
-I think the American work ethic is over rated; yeah I said it.
-I've camped out for a movie...for more than a day.
-I can't stop watching the awful show that is Prison Break, God help me. **update, i finally did - there is hope for me......but now it's on dvd, hmm.
