In a past life I did a languages degree and defy anyone not to agree that this wins the 'Wankiest Dissertation Title Ever' award: The distribution of the prepositional accusative in Italian and northern Italy. For those of you who aren't Chomsky, this is essentially the letter 'a'. There's literally no way you're going to come up with anything more square.

A list of things I enjoy haemorrhaging my wages on: dim sum, Korean food in seedy Soho basements, nice beer in nice pubs, stationery, cheese from Neal's Yard Dairy, tapas, and books I will never read and DVDs I will never watch from Fopp. Films I have actually watched and enjoyed: Bad Education, Inglourious Basterds, and ridiculous childhood staples including things like Beetlejuice and Death Becomes Her. TV shows: Peep Show, Father Ted, University Challenge, Fresh Meat... and I'm not ashamed to admit I'll indiscriminately watch any old schmaltzy period drama. Music: Radiohead, Grizzly Bear, Beach House, Nick Drake, Portishead, bits and pieces of electro, Rachmaninov, and lots of folky stuff. I'm inclined to play music in pubs when I get a chance.
