QUICKFACTS ON ME: College kid, Peace Studies major, lives in CT, goes to school in MD (usually), friendly, funny, empathetic, good at making lists, etc.

I'm a ball of energy. A loyal as shit ball of energy. A ball of energy that can be really easy going about some things, but is insanely passionate and opinionated about others. A ball of energy that just slept for over 14 hours. So maybe not always so energetic. But honestly, what do you want from me? That I should be energetic all the time? What do I look like, the Energizer Bunny? Maybe, but that's beside that point. Wait, what was I saying? Oh, right.

I appreciate good conversation, especially about international politics, foreign language/culture/history, and conflict resolution stuff. I get along with people that have opinions different than mine, so long as they're well supported and have a basis in fact. I try to be logical, and usually succeed. I'm a big fan of British literature (I'm more of a Jane Eyre fella than a Pride and Prejudice boy though). I want to be on jeopardy because I'm a know-it-all when it comes to trivia and minutiae. I always have a long term plan, but sometimes lack a short term plan. Everything tends to work out for me and I like to think it's because I'm ambitious, hardworking, and pretty intelligent but it's more likely a result of my Sagittarian luck and fate. Maybe a combination of the two. I am restless and reckless. Staying in one place for too long makes my soul itch. Not risking my life every once and a while does the same. Consequentially, I'm a big fan of adventures and people who want to undertake them with me. Sticks in mud and debby downers need not apply. I'm basically looking for a best friend with benefits, which makes me wish I was straight because then I would have one.

Also, I hate compliments.

I'm a Peace Studies major at Goucher College. This fall I'm doing a Washington Semester at American University studying Peace and Conflict Resolution and interning at a little non-profit. Spring '09 I'll be studying in Amman. After graduation I'm joining the Peace Corps. I'll figure out the rest when I come to it.

The original Sonic the Hedgehog for Sega Genesis. Not sleeping for days on end. Making people laugh. Being blunt in a way that could be considered socially unacceptable, or at the least unexpected. Being around when I'm needed.

Authors: Franz Kafka, Kate Chopin, Charlotte Bronte, Charles Dickens, Augusten Burroughs, David Sedaris, Khalil Gibran, Rumi, Hafiz, Phillip Pullman. Three Cups of Tea is the most significant book I've ever read, it made me want to be a Peace Studies major. Recently I've been delving more and more into the world of books that are only really read by people in my field. Some good ones so far are Fixing Failed States (Ashraf Ghani and Clare Luckhart), Crude World (Peter Maass), and Witness in Palestine (Anna Baltzer).

Movies: The Opposite of Sex, Party Monster, Wristcutters: A Love Story, The Fifth Element, Girl Interrupted, Kill Bill (both of 'em), American Gangster, Pineapple Express, RULES OF ATTRACTION (I may or may not be Paul Denton).

Music: MATT AND KIM, Say Hi to Your Mom, Ghostland Observatory, Professor Murder, Regina Spektor, 3OH3!, Owl City, Family Force 5, Justice, MGMT, Pat Benatar, Say Anything, The Violent Femmes, K's Choice, Something Corporate, Cartel, Keny Arkana, Mac Lethal, Tegan and Sara, Kings of Leon, Cash Cash, M.I.A, The Cab, The Graduate, My American Heart, The Rocket Summer, the list goes on and on.

Food: Indian, but I'll eat just about anything.

Television: Bones, Heroes, Burn Notice, Arrested Development, Futurama, Intervention (for sentimental purposes, it's complicated), SVU, Stormchasers, pretty much anything on the Discovery or History channels.

Friends, family, books, nature, music, physical movement.

Ridiculous shit. My inner monologue fascinates even me.
