My self-summary
Hi, my name's Duncan, or as my friends call me: Duncan.

You may be asking yourself "To what sad set of circumstances do I owe the extreme displeasure of having arrived at this profile?"

Well, it's probably after 11pm, and you just saw your ex boyfriend in a mutual friend's picture with his arm around another girl. It's a group photo, but you know you've seen him in another photo standing next to her, but they didn't look as friendly.

You're not sure where that's going to go, but you can't help but feel like you'll be left out somehow, so you've hopped on your old okcupid account. You haven't been here for a while, and are afraid to even look through the mountain of creepy messages that have surely been left by men that are way too old for you and the hilariously inept ones left by those too young for you.

You've sorted through your matches, looked through a few hot guys who are clearly more into themselves than they could ever be into you, and some who just have that "i like to cry" look. Now you're here though. I'm neither George Clooney nor George Burns. I'm not as powerful as George Washington, nor as rich as George Jefferson. No, the George I most resemble is 'Curious,' and indeed I am curious as to where this can go between us.

So what do you say? Be my man in the yellow hat?
What I’m doing with my life
I basically play video games for a living. No, that doesn't mean I'm wearing sweatpants right now while cradling a liter of soda on my stomach, it just means I'm living the dream of every American child, which I think very few can say is totally true for themselves. To avoid those terrible cliches you may have in your head about gamers I hit the gym several times a week. It also helps burn off the elaborate meals I love to spend hours cooking for myself and my friends. You think you know what a hamburger is? Give me 2 hours and I will prove you wrong. I love being creative in the kitchen, especially when I have someone to share it with (tell me how good it is).

I am planning on getting my MBA sometime in the future, but that future is now further on the horizon since I put down a pretty penny for the BMW I've wanted since I was a kid. It may sound pretentious, but dammit--I've been working since I was 16 and it felt good to treat myself to something I'd like to think I deserve.
I’m really good at
Telling stories. Insulting people without them knowing I'm insulting them (don't worry, it wouldn't be you but maybe the snarky hipster waitress who's serving us). Fixing your technologies. Being a kind of human wikipedia with approximately the same amount of accuracy. Being reliable (I'll always offer to be the DD if out with friends). Cooking a meal the meets your suggested caloric intake for an entire week.
The first things people usually notice about me
I look nerdy but don't party nerdy. My curly (full-head) of hair. Sometimes I wish I had thinning hair to tame it, but alas, genetics is a cruel game. Also my slight Rochester accent, according to a multitude of imitations I've heard from friends.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
BOOKS: Robert Ludlum books, John Le Carre books, Books about Zombies, Generic Sci-Fi pulp.

MOVIES: I have that problem of liking or loving almost every movie I see, and I watch a lot of movies. Some favorite directors though are Oliver Stone, Michael Mann, Quentin Tarantino, etc. But I also really love ridiculous movies like Role Models and Harold & Kumar. Are there explosions? Awesome. I'm there. And indie character sketch with a quirky soundtrack? Cool. I'll probably want to discuss it after.

MUSIC: I have hopelessly predictable white-guy tastes in tunes. A friend of mine described a recent mix-tape I made as "dad music." This means classic rock and awesomeness, in my humble opinion, but since it has no synthesizers to many this means lame. But hey, I can get down to some Peaches and chill to some Nouvelle Vague with the best of 'em.

FOOD: Macaroni and Cheese, Croissants, Steak, really crisp french fries (but not burned), anything I make myself. Gross and starchy! Sign me up!

TV: Battlestar Galactica, Simpsons, Family Guy, Entourage, Breaking Bad, Top Gear, Flight of the Conchords, Venture Bros, Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
The six things I could never do without
My iPhone, surround sound, HDTV, comfortable shoes, my Lucky jeans, Maker's Mark.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My friends. Stick with me here. I really do. I have traveled a lot and seen a lot of cool people come and go from my like and I spend a ton of energy keeping in touch with them. What can I say? I'm a loyal dude.

Also, hamburgers. Mmmm.
On a typical Friday night I am
I love going to shows or bars with my camera and taking shots of people. I find everyone interesting and I'm trying to develop my hobby of photography into something more substantial. I'm also not above chilling at home with my fat cat Esteban and getting my eat on with an elaborate meal I've cooked up.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
As good as I am at telling stories, I have been told at times they go on for too long. If this is seemingly being proven true at any point I will not be offended if you tell me to shut up. No, really.
