My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I recently completed grad school with PhD in business. I'm focusing my time right now on researching corporate social responsibility and socially oriented business practices. I'm very easy-going and have a rather quirky sense of humor. I'm really excited about teaching and just moved to St. Louis to start a job as a professor. My research focuses on corporate social responsibility and what it means to be a good corporate citizen. I love talking about societal issues like that and I hope to make a contribution with my work in the future.

I have a wide variety of interests. I like to go outside as much as I can like a normal person. However, I don't mind staying in with a nice movie or something good to read. I've accepted the fact that I'm kind of a dork and am filled with useless knowledge about things that don't matter.

After that short and rather dry introduction, I feel like I should embellish my profile a bit in order to make myself look better, so here goes:
I once fought a man on top of a train.
I've been referred to as "El Presidente"
When asked, I told George R.R. Martin that his first draft 'needed some work'
I've yelled at someone to start the plane while running from a band of angry natives

Full disclosure: I'm a time traveler. I'm going forward at a rate roughly equal to 1 second per second. Hopefully you will be understanding enough to not hold that against me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.

I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Recalling random facts - Like binomial nomenclature being the method for naming species. It definitely helps during trivia night.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My sense of humor. A little bit quirky and sarcastic.

The fact that I'm not a bridge troll or should be guarding a swamp.

Oh man, where to start here.

I like books that make you think. Oryx and Crake, House of Leaves, Dawkins, Faust, a Clockwork Orange... just a few off the top of my head.

Same goes with movies: Memento, Lucky Number Slevin, Silence of the Lambs. And the other ones which you're just can't not like: Back to the Future, Indiana Jones, Little Miss Sunshine.

TV: Reality TV is pretty awful, Except Hell's Kitchen, I'll give that one a pass. I've been getting into Breaking Bad recently. Also, Alway's Sunny, Archer, Game of Thrones, anything clever and well-done really.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The numbers 1 through 6.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Religion, politics, my fellow humans, the gradual heat death of the universe, how magnets work. Also, I'm a fan of college football, so I think about what Idaho needs to do to win a national championship.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
When your job and your life revolves around academia it's nice to get out and have a beer or do something fun. Fridays consist of things that fall into either of those two categories.

I would like to find someone with similar interests and the ability to hold a decent conversation. I would say I want to find someone with a good sense of humor but I think that's terribly cliche for a dating profile. I would also like to find someone who has a series of goals. They don't need to be major (like winning the Nobel Prize for Chemistry) but just enough to give your life some purpose. I'd love to talk about them, whether it be education, a job, visiting somewhere new, an art project you're working on etc.

I would also hope that the person I meet has a respect for education and has completed some college. Again, this is not coming from a sense that those who don't pursue higher ed are not as valuable. I've simply come to the realization that most of my identity is wrapped around college. I've spent most of my adult life there and it is now my career. It would be hard to develop a connection with someone who doesn't have at least a basic understanding of the world I live in.
